These 2016 recruits are signing up for a coach that is as good as gone. This is why players are leaving, recruits are decommitting, coaches are leaving. The implosion is starting now . but they won't fire Little Jimmy Franks until this fall due to his way overpaid salary. Plus they don't want to can him with Signing Day next week.

If he manages to win 6 games, he'll probably be there barring some kind of public meltdown.

With their pathetic scheduling, they will always win 6 games.
...and besides, he still has another year to cry, "It's the sanctions! The sanctions!"

He'a already begun a new excuse-mantra: something about dirty recruiting. Never mind that he started dirty recruiting as soon as he arrived in Nitland: he started poaching Vandy recruits -- players whom he recruited for Vandy -- while still taking Vandy paychecks.

What a piece of work he is. Clearly, Will Rogers would've made an exception to his rule had he met Slick Jimmy Franks.

the cult is in full pr/ pretend mode right now, but they're gonna lose their minds after losing week 2. that pressure will be too much. no way in hell they finish better than 7-5 next year. slippin jimmy will be entering 2017 with one year left on his contract and ped state would either have to extend his contract or let the used car salesmen go into signing day on a lame duck contract. can't see that happening

Yes... to even suggest sanctions for allowing child rape in their own football locker room deserves any kind of sanctions is ridiculous! I mean, not of the current players did that!

wow... with that logic there would never be a sanction ever.

Lets say you're the CEO of a business (Nitter AD) and you're general manager ( Franklin) is running the company into the ground and destroying the brand.
What would or should you do?
Guess what I'd take my lumps NOW ( maybe the day after signing day) and fire the person and move on with a new general manager ( in this case Franklin).
Rebuild!
If this goes on another season it could be worse than our coaching mess after Wanny was canned! Well maybe its just as bad now!

Not so sure about that at all? Depends the Games he loses and to what Team he loses to them? Franklin has promised many things and brought in 3 New Coaches. He had to explain why he did it, stated Publicly he has a plan, while A.D. Barbour has also said, "MUST WINS" are very important.

If Temple And/Or Pitt beat Franklin that is a problem???
Temple last year and 2 years wins in a row by a PSU Alum???? This makes Matt Ruhle an attractive alternative right there, and Ruhle refused some jobs, for a reason?

Losing to Pitt will depend on how big and how bad but winning will help him too. To me, this makes Pitt and Temple "MUST WINS"!

The Big Problems are still not getting blown away like in 2015 by OSU, Michigan, and MSU? If they play them better or beat one, he is coming back with 6 to 8 Wins easy!

He plays an easier schedule later in the year too, so he can have his New OC, QB, OL, and Offense better ready. Yet, the Defense will be rebuilding but that can happen by the 3rd and 4th games more easily.

Adjusting to New OC, OL, DC, DB Coaches with New QB and New Defense and Special Teams from Games One through Five is what is going to take Quicker New Adjustments between Coaches & Players learning together???? Those first 5 Games are Kent State, Pitt, Temple. Michigan and Minnesota?

If they are 4-1 things look great, but if 3-2, or 2-3, Fans will not be coming out the last 7 games as much without a big change of fortunes. This is where Higher Ups will not be happy in Nittany Valley.

If that works out even at 3-2, then adjusting playing against 3 Great Coaches now comes against UMD, OSU, Purdue, IOWA, Indiana, Rutgers, and MSU???

Those "MUST WINS" being only 6 may not be enough if they are just against Minnesota, Purdue, and Indiana? But if Rutger's Ash or Maryland's Durkin beats him, that is an unexpected lost. Clearly, Ash and Durkin should have their Players playing better too by those games?

By the 6th game, Moorhead/Limegrover OC/OL Offense "MUST" be better. Defense too! If Franklin can beat just OSU or IOWA or MSU that is when he will be given another year.

So, assuming he beats Kent, Minnesota, Maryland, Purdue, Indiana, and Rutgers is the 6 Wins? This makes Pitt or Temple a "MUST WIN" to get to 7 or 8 Wins????

It also means, if Franklin loses to Pitt or Temple or both, and then Michigan OSU, Iowa, and MSU, 6-6 will not cut it, in my opinion that way? It has to be 7-6 or better and that means beating Pitt or/and Temple in the 2nd and 3rd Games???

Wow, just thinking Franklin has to beat PSU Alum Temple's Rhule in the 3ed game, and In State Rival Pitt's Narduzzi is what could very well define Franklin's Season and Tenure?

Matt Rhule will want to beat him again at Beaver Stadium, just to make Penn State Higher Ups take notice. Narduzzi like Harbaugh, Meyer, and Dantonio just do not respect Franklin, in my opinion based on how Franklin acted like a "Cad" his last 3 years since coming to Penn State? They will run up the score if they can and like they did last year, remember having the tackle score a TD??? Losing to Pitt will cause manic depression at Penn State!!!

UMD's Durkin and Rutger's Ash already have experience playing against Franklin just like Ruhle? Throw in Minnesota knowing all about PSU's OL Coach Limegrover, strengths and weaknesses, and that is again another concern for Franklin & New Staff?

Franklin's Coaching Tenure actually depends more on Moorhead and Limegrover that will have Barkley, Robinson, Sanders with a New QB all playing under a New Offensive System & New Defensive Players???

While Pitt, Temple, & Michigan in first three games, with OSU, Iowa, and MSU all will have more games under their belts later too, have most QBs & Players back too?

The "MUST WINS" come down to Kent State, Minnesota, Purdue, Indiana, Maryland and Rutgers at 6-6???? Good luck with that result and outcome for 2017!!!!

I don't know, besides having more empty seats than usual, he's pretty much doing what they've been doing for the most part since joining B10. Having decent seasons making decent bowl games. They've never seemed enamored with actually competing for rose bowls. Plus he has a 6 year 25.5m deal.

I will be succinct. This will be his last year unless he goes 8-4 and beats Temple and Pitt. That to me is a realistic expectation from his administrators and boss. 7-5 with a loss to either Pitt or Temple and it will show no progress with a lunatic alumni and fan base calling for a change.

His car may be found alongside the Susquehanna River and he may never re-appear. They did this before....
Yes the asst. DA with the goods on the Nitters is floating around there somewhere. My wife and I smallmouth bass fish that area from our two person kayak and I'd hate to snag him and lose an expensive lure? And yes I do fish with my wife!

Well, very good point, as you say, if Penn State is now comfortable being a Top 3 Football Program in the Big Ten at Top 30-40 Winning in the Big Ten, then he stays at 8 to 9 wins per year, and they saddle down to being a Second and Third Tier Program enjoying the money but not worrying about more and bigger winning?

At one Time Penn State was a Top 10 Program and Top Ten Winning Team before it joined the Big Ten.

Now Ohio State, Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa and even Northwestern seem to have equaled or passed it? This can easily be reversed if PSU acquire a Great Coach just like Wisky & Iowa did in 1990s, OSU 2000, MSU & NW 2007, and Michigan 2015!

I think we need more James Franklin and PSU posts on Pitt's message board, can never get enough of them
Yep, we need less WHINING from your one liners that keep saying it too, nobody cares what you think because you can't show it in any football content, just whine about it? "QUITWHININGWANNY!"
