When Davis Beville committed to Pitt on Sunday, Jack Salopek's ears perked up.
The 2020 quarterback prospect from Norwin had been in regular contact with the Pitt coaches, seeing them visit his school last December and again this spring, as well as making his own visit to campus in February and returning for the prospect camp earlier this month.
All parties were quite familiar with each other, and Salopek understood that there was one hurdle the Pitt coaches had to clear before their recruitment of him could go to the next level.
“They said they wanted to get a 2019 quarterback to commit before they really moved onto 2020,” Salopek told Panther-Lair.com. “Once they got that guy, they offered.”
