Why doesn't SI do that ranking anymore? Besides Pitt that year, I didn't even know that ranking existed not have I seen it since mentioned by anybody. Very odd.

And I always laugh when people say "they quit on the coach". They got their ass kicked up and down the field from the opening kickoff. When you get your ass kicked that bad, you throw in the towel and want to see 00:00 on the scoreboard....doesn't matter who the coach is. If they "quit on the coach" they would not have been at his presser when he "resigned".

Sorry but he failed to win any big games. His signature win was as a 5-7 team at WVU. It's easy in hindsight to look at the records in 2008 and 2009 but the fact is that he underachiever both seasons. I didn't want to see him go at the time, but there is no comparison to the level of coaching this program enjoys now and what we saw under Wanny.

You don't get to big games without winning other big games.
