I would say Gonzales for Dugger is a net gain. At least for this season.
Local kid gets a chance. Does well in a meaningless bowl game, and gets delusions of grandeur.

Yes, the new offensive staff, which did Not recruit JD, recruited over him and will continue to do so.
Why. He got passed on the depth chart by a true freshman.
Just another WPIAL kid who things he is to good for the local team. Hope he goes to a school on Pitt's schedule. Willing to bet that NIL MONEY was a big factor in the decision. College sports are a mess right now, not even worth following.

Same here. It's not even this portal transfer. Who gives a rat's a$$ about him? It's the overall scene of college football as it exists today. It's a freakin' mess and getting worse. I have no connection to this Pitt program or college football at all. It is indeed dead.

Dude, it’s not money or Pitt or anything like that. I totally understand the frustration with the transfer portal, but he’s most likely going to end up at G5 school or worse. He just wants to have a chance to play, and clearly that wasn’t likely here.
If it works out for him, you could argue he did things exactly right.
1) Get a taste of P4 skill level and development while using a redshirt
2) Compete for G5 reps
3) Perhaps win a G5 starting job
4/5) Get paid to transfer back up to P4
6) Sell insurance for the Jurkovec Agency

His play in the bowl game was a surprise. Even to the staff as the started the walk on over him. Bit of a bummer, but not a bigger deal than that.
He was never any good. You weren't paying attention earlier.
Saw Duggar play as a freshman at PH, only a freshman but really didn't have the "wow" factor to him. I think there was a reason he really didn't have any P4 offers.
I wish the kid well. I thought we would at least see him in some sub packages this year and in some goal line options. We aren't exactly loaded with big, strong, athletic kids on the offensive side of the ball. He wasn't a burner by any means but he could of been useful. Oh well, the portal is not our friend.
This is not, and never was, a true P4 prospect. Anybody who actually saw him play in HS could see this.

Quarterbacks don't understand that the goal is TO PLAY. Duggar should have gone FCS and worked his way up from there. In general:
3 star: FCS/G5
4 star: High G5/low P4
5 Star: low P4/high P4
Like, 5 stars should be choosing between Pitt, Syr, and Rut. Go start for 1-2 years then transfer to OSU or Bama. I dont understand why all these HS kids are so excited to be 3rd or 4th string for a couple years.
