I turned on Peak's podcast for like two minutes on my way home from work, and I had to turn it right back off. He said he is comfortable with Dugger as QB2 next season. Like, what? I mean, maybe it's a possibility. But Pitt fans seem to be incapable of nuance.
Did he look good today? Sure. Is there any type of book on him whatsoever? No. Is he on a P4 team playing against a MAC team in a dome? Yep. Is he going to be able to just run around like that and extend plays like that against an ACC team? We have no idea yet. But it's not like he was sitting I the pocket, dissecting defenses, making good reads and accurate throws... you know, the stuff successful quarterbacks do.
Maybe he'll be that. But maybe we shouldn't crown him like we did with Veilleux against Louisville, Yarnell against BC, etc. Wild idea, but maybe we should just be optimistic and hopeful rather than make bold declarations.
