You have to admire this teams fight. They’ve been down 20 18 14 on the road and came back in all three. I think really the lack of depth and inability to shoot consistently just makes our rally’s hard to sustain.
I saw a lot of posts on the staff this game but frankly Jamie did something similar against Duke in 2014 with Jahlil Okafor. They were so focused on him wide open threes flew all game but both Jeff like Jamie that not liked there chances better that way. Guys from Duke got hot and shot beyond their typical selves and that game in 2014 was never this close.They gave Duke all they could handle at Cameron Indoor this time though.
Toney I think is the obvious guy to just say wow. Unreal performance really has stepped it up since end of OOC schedule but tonight was a masterpiece cutting to the hoop offensive rebounding knocking down shots etc.
Justin continues to be Justin and does all the extra work on the glass to get those put backs or goes up strong on the low block again and again.
coulibaly really gave this team what they needed when we were down to no one at center. We saw more than I ever could have imagined from him tn.
That being said Hamilton was awful completely over matched on both ends but I do think Brown played well really it just made sense to ride the hot hand. But when we needed that initial spark Brown came in down 9-2 and started that run 4 points 2 blocks 1 steal in that 10-0 burst early.
Trey is Trey he’s inconsistent but he did a pretty good job making some big passes but this is kinda what I expect from him till he fully puts it together. We won’t win consistently untill he becomes consistent himself it seems though unfortunately.
X on the other hand the kid has talent but I really question where his heads at plays selfish on both ends let’s his O effect his D and gets lazy it’s maddening. We need him to figure it out but I don’t think it’s going to be this season at this point he needs to empty his head this offseason.
Oh yeah and Murph absolutely non existent. This is at least the second game that got too big for him.
