Today was a very good quality win…but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Yeah I honestly don’t think WMU was a horrible loss or GT a great win, although I am 2-2 in wins attending away games.
Also I still think Duzz should be fired if he finishes 6-6 this year. Lots of year left. Even if we win 2 of the next 4 I’ll be happy.

Let’s see what happens after GT. we have a ton of football to play yet. If you learned anything about Pitt football, it’s never hype a team, player, or coach this early in a season.
If we can score 50+ every game, we have a good shot at winning most of the remaining games. But that's the question. There will be teams with better defenses that we play that will limit Pitt to less than 50 points. And they'll score on us a lot more than GT did. So this was just one win against a mediocre team, nothing more. We just have to hope that the 50+ points/game continues.
The way i saw todays game (and the season to date) was that our defense relies on a relentless pass rush that doesnt allow the QB time to look downfield. Early on we didnt have that and got burnt a couple times. As long as we have that relentless, dominating rush, i think the defense is going to win us games. (It gets ugly when we dont). Still a little concerned with our run game but im getting over it

Yeah but we are in the acc coastal. Mediocrity is the norm. There are no good teams left. Some teams that can play good in short bursts is the best we will face.

I agree. Winning the Coastal isn't exactly an accomplishment. I just pray that we can keep this up and our offense just puts up 50+ every game. If we get in a close, low scoring game, I don't like our chances.
Next up Virginia Tech. Laser focus on beating them. But…I would love to see our boys throttle Clemson at home like we did to GT yesterday.

I consider VT and Clemson and probably UNC better than anyone we have played so far.

Agreed. However it always seems it’s one or the other. It can be both. What you say is correct but giving up 44 to WMU still sucks. I realize Pitt isn’t that program that should NEVER lose as a big favorite but the problem is it’s happened too often. Laid too many eggs and I think that’s where most of the angst comes from. And at the time it did feel deflating because this was the year a lot of us thought Pitt could break out of that pattern. And they very well still may. But that game was another kick in the junk. I can’t imagine there were too many people who weren’t even at least thinking (at least like briefly) here we bleeping go again.
There’s a lot of football to be played. Let’s see how it all shakes out. We aren’t good enough to just show up and win. Hopefully our team and coaches learned their lesson.

GT tried to run it. Tenn tried to run it too. I think people overlook how good that WMU QB ran it against Pitt.
I'll go back to the Duzz comment again that they didn't bring enough pressure against WMU. I'm sure that's one thing they'd change if they had a do over.
