Easter is saved

Defender of truth?? That's my nickname? Hmmm, i like it.

i just got used to zelda, "Former slave owner" given to me by one of the 3 lefty stooges on here, i honestly forget since they all blend together, and i was going with that for awhile but "defender of truth" has a nice ring to it..
You’re the DOT! I’m using that moving forward. I love it.

And I don’t know about you, but I’d bet you and I were more likely to have ancestors who were slaves, than actually us having slaves owners in our heritage.

if it was never an issue, why did the national media talk about it every day when trump was in office?
Because it was literally a Dem talking point from HQ. That’s factual. And the media, as they always do, acted as the propaganda arm of the DNC.

Maybe you haven't noticed, but the locker room is becoming the echo chamber for you, Dr. 80 and his millions of memes, Zelda, the defender of truth, and a few others. Yinz can knock yourselves out posting in the wilderness to each other, I'm pretty bored with it.

Fortunately yinz guys are decent football posters so I don't have you on ignore and this crap is all in the locker room. I'll look forward to seeing some football posts in the fall.
HERE HERE!! I totally agree! It's quite boring.

And the reason why they hate Elon so much is that they hate that they can’t dupe the hoi polloi anymore through their media monopoly.

No..the national media didn't talk about it. Trump and the MAGATS talked about it - as a campaign tool issue that wasn't an issue at all.

You and I usually agreed on the football board. How is it there? Less activity, right? I don’t know if that’s better or worse. I always hated being late to a thread and then having 4 pages of posts to get to before the end. That’s not happening now. It’s easier to keep up.

I agree…The right absolutely talked about it because it absolutely was a problem that hurt low income people who couldn’t afford the prices. Fortunately people like us can go to the store, bite the bullet and pay $9 for a carton of eggs. Like it or not, grocery bills and gas prices (intertwined) impact voters and thus elections. That’s just how it works. SMF of all people understood that.

The DNC just knew how impactful the issue damaged them so they tried to turn the tables after Donnie took office. Often times politics are cheap and dirty and the parties rely on the voters to be dumb and not know the root causes of issues. The tactic in January worked a little with eggs but most people saw through that one. It was desperation for the DNC because absolutely nothing was going right. But overall it didn’t work, and of course prices fell.

Interesting that everyone is ignoring this and instead relying on a tweet from “End Wokeness”.
Don't worry about that. Just get milk instead...oops. Maybe I misinterpreted Trump when he said he'd lower the price of grocery staples on Day 1 several dozen if not hundreds of times.

eggs are 3.50 at shop n save in bethel. i dont know what you guys are talking about. graphs, tweets, links. sometimes it's better to just step away from the computer, go outside, and see for yourself..
Yeah. They’ve come way down locally but apparently they are still high in other areas. My family eats a shitload of eggs. My son is a fitness buff and I eat them in an effort to stay fit. I just paid 3.50 myself.

I get my eggs at Aldi. I'm paying $4.57 and it's coming down. The media and Dems are full of s%$t.

If you are getting Grade A eggs for 3.50 then that's a hell of a deal. I can get Grade B eggs for around that price at Giant Eagle, but the cheapest A's that I saw were like $5.89.

Not sure. Extra large grade A at BJs are 4.09 currently.

Just to be clear, I don't actually believe a President can really affect grocery prices that much. It's been clear for a while that most of the rise is from corporate profit inflation. The only reason I say it is because it was used as a cudgel against Biden at every single speech or interview.

For Example, Cal-Maine is responsible for >20% of egg production in the US. To avoid confusion, their third quarter just ended in March. Volume up, prices up, costs down, profits tripled.
Cal-Maine said it sold a record 331.4 million dozen-eggs in the third quarter, a 10% increase from the same period a year ago.

Cal-Maine said it made progress on mitigating the effects of bird flu, including increasing the number of layer hens and chicks hatched and recovering from the flu-related closure of facilities in Texas and Kansas. The company said its feed costs were also down during the quarter.

Cal-Maine said its third quarter net income more than tripled to $508.5 million compared to the same period a year ago.

And we probably will still agree with a lot on the football board when it picks up. It's not personal - you just have skewed political views. You'd be at the other table at Thanksgiving that's all.
Aren't these reports from after the election?

And I would bet money that those aren't grade A eggs. Which have basically been the standard in grocery stores for decades. Many stores started mixing in more grade B eggs to their retail product lines to offer a cheaper consumer product with higher profit margins since 2020.

Skewed? Interesting choice of words. But not in my married/parental/suburban circles. Hard to find people like you in my bubble. But I see you when I’m in the city or visit NY, Boston and CA.

Yay. Zombie Jesus can rise again. Dumbest and most profitable con of all time. Based on a book written by men.

Talking about the price of eggs I never paid more than $4.00 for eggs at the GE. I like to know where eggs cost well over $5.00 plus or was this more bs that the media makes up. During the pandemic you the media made a big deal about a toilet paper shortage. I went to Target and there was plenty of toilet paper. I quit watching the news months ago except for the weather then I turn it off.

I've had enough fun over here. Time to move on. Like Slick wrote...this chit is boring.

yeah, it was kind of entertaining the first couple of weeks, now what's the point. The vax deniers aren't going to change their minds....Moses could come down from Mt. Sinai with it written on a 3rd tablet and it won't sway them.

So you aren't providing the 3.50 egg prices or what?

lol, me too.

I do recall in the early stages of covid though, when we were all wearing paper napkins on our faces, being at a shop n save and seeing no ramen noodles on the shelves lol. i mean empty shelves. i kid you not, i had a second of dread, like WTF is going on if people are eating this garbage..

so i'll admit the supply chain scares during the pandemic hit me a bit. but it was all the azzholes buying extra crap like TP because of the media scare. a self fulfillling prophecy if you will. media telling you there is a shortage so people go out and buy extra milk, TP, eggs and next thing you know, there is an actual shortage..

what pissed me off the most is not the people buying a ton of it but the people who bought just a little more than they need, blaming others. THEY were the problem and they didnt realize it. the customer buying an extra roll or two just in case. that what was F'ing everything up..

I didn't ask for anything but proof of the price you're paying.

I linked Giant Eagles egg prices in my reply.

Amazing that a thread on egg prices going down doesn’t seem to generate any interest on this board from the usual suspects. It’s all they wanted to talk about here when the directive from HQ was to pretend it was an indictment on trump. It shows how easily manipulated they all are.

So do you understand the point or are you still confused?

ok, next time a go shopping, i guess i'll take a picture for you lol. f*ckin weird request but i'll do my best..

I'm exactly the same way. If you watch the news, either local or national, you'd think prices of eggs are through the roof, the next world war is around the corner, and the earth is doomed from "climate change", which happens whether we're here or not but isn't going to end the world. At least not for the next million or so years. As soon as the local or national news comes on, if my TV is even on, I change channels or turn it off. The local Pittsburgh channels are no better than the leftist propaganda from CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC.
