He just signed a 2 year deal with the Bears, and has been in the pros for 5 years. He did not have any offers and graduated from Cal PA. There is another OL that graduated from Slippery Rock playing in the pros.

It happens. Sometimes late bloomers or lack of coaching in school or short arms or lack of speed. Hard work can pay off .

And?

... or misevaluation by coaches and or rating services.
Wells, Fusco, and Kush are 3 PSAC OL from the WPIAL who played in the pros at some point over the past 5 years. You would think someone would have offered these guys. On the opposite side you have Sterling Jenkins who was rated a 4/5 star and will be riding the bench.

Some players fall thru the cracks. NFL Receiver Pierre Garçon played his college ball at two D-3 schools: Norwich University and Mt. Union College. While Mt. Union has been a great D-3 program, they're hardly a launching pad into the NFL.

dont know your point, but matt adams played baseball at slippery rock U now with st louis cardinals

The PSAC has placed quite a few kids in the NFL. CalU's CJ Goodwin had a lot of PT in the Super Bowl this year with Atlanta.

There are plenty of NFL caliber players in D2.

OL more than any other position are made through hard work and good technique.
Heart and desire is much harder to determine in a recruit than just raw physical talent. Which is why you always have these diamond in the rough kids that emerge, but you can't stock your team with a bunch of these kids hoping that a few will emerge. Conversely, that is why so many high level draft picks in the NFL fail as well.

I think the Fusco boy from Slippery Rock was like 220 or 230 TE coming out HS. He grew into the offensive lineman.

Well since no P5 programs offered them they must not have been D1 prospects coming out of high school. They got a chance at a lower level and blossomed into NFL players. It happens more than you think. There is more than one path to the top. No mystery here.

Sometimes it's academics too. But usually it's size or they come from a HS that has almost no weight room. A lot of the time it's because they played under a terrible head coach that treats the position like a seasonal job. You also suffer if you don't attend "the right" camps.

Good football players don't come from wpa. They only come from Fla. Just ask coach Narduzzi.

this guy below made the pros and he never went to college instead, pursued a music career and lead a hip hop group called the funky bunch. not sure where he is now, heard he's working for his brother's burger joint.

Brandon Fusco.......just signed a multi million dollar contract from the Vikings.

Played a Seneca Valley high school who went to Slippery Rock

What happens is when a lot of these kids graduate high school. They are much smaller than what they end up being. Fusco was 230lbs his senior year in HS. Another player i know from the PSAC was 6'1 190 lb tight end in high school. When he left Slippery Rock he was 6'3 245 lb half back who played in the pros for 4 or 5 years.

There are many more examples like this across the country. Late bloomers happen all the time. One of my best friends was 5'9 170 when he graduated high school. He is now 6'4 260. Crazy no doubt

IUP has a pretty good OL, Ethan Cooper, who has garnered some NFL interest this year (he is a senior this year) ........

6'3", 325 lbs, four year starter at IUP, played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl All-Star game 1/17 and looked like he belonged ......

A little short and I'm not sure about his wingspan, but he is very strong/powerful, also quick and agile for his size ....... I suspect a late round pick or FA ....

He has been invited to the upcoming NFL Combine ..... so the NFL is at least interested.
