So what is the truth regards to him. DT, you said Pitt is not close to getting him. Are you still sure? Vader says Pitt is in the top 3 or so. And hey cjcotten, you ran your mouth real well against Vader calling him a liar, what is your input and please tell us the false information or are you going to disappear next? If anyone else has insight I would like to know. I like this kids game and want to add him. Please don't spam my thread. I have a feeling cjcotten is a spammer. Thank you

Cotten is not a spammer for sure.

As for Morton, I’ve heard from three independent, trustworthy people (two of whom never post here) who know people connected to him that it’s very doubtful that he goes to Pitt.

Am I sure? Of course not. Nowhere close to sure. I’m simply passing along opinions from individuals who know a great deal more about the things Morton could be saying than I could possibly know.

Are these folks more trustworthy than Vader?

Well, I have no way of knowing that other than that I know who they are, generally what their connections are, and what agendas they could possibly be, if any.

Has Capel started to change Morton’s mind? I have no idea. Possible? Yes.

I too would love to add him. He appears to be a very good player.

But at this point, anything Vader says does not hold any more credibility (and probably less) than three people who I know.

Having said this, if Vader continues to post here and someone like Morton chooses Pitt, Vader will obviously gain credibility to a large degree.

But at this point, I cannot give Vadar more credibility simply because he is saying the things I’d most like to hear.

With all those recruits it's very doubtful they chose Pitt. We need to get one or two though.

As long as we get 2 quality bigs I wiil be happy. I think guards and wings may not be interested much for 2019 class because of competition for PT with our 3 very good freshmen. Classes of 2020 and 2021 will probably be a different story regarding guard interest.

Vader never said Morton was coming here.
He simply said Pitt has a better relationship than before.

I would agree that Pitt/Capel have made Morton take notice. In the end, I believe Pitt will make his final 5 and receive an official visit. However, from what I've heard he loves Michigan/Beilein. They are the school to beat. Also high on Marquette/Wojo.

Have to hope Morton wants to stay close so his family can see him play. He's been quoted saying how much he loves playing in front of his parents, grandfather (former coach at Moniteau High School), extended family and friends. Can't imagine many of those people making numerous trips to Ann Arbor, Milwaukee or Stanford.

I think the kicker in all this is Morton has been developing relationships for 2 years now, mostly before Capel got here. Who is to say that Morton doesn't become enamored of Capel now that he is involved. He seems to have made up ground so who really knows what will happen going forward. No one is saying Capel will land Morton but to say there is zero chance is very shortsighted.

What about reclassification? Vader words things very carefully but does not make guarantees. He says things like could or potential. I say this because how do we know for certain if someone may be thinking about reclassification or doing what akok akok and Lamont Wade diddid coming in a half year early. Everyone was wrong on akok and akok still probably doesn't have a plan yet. If a player has great grades and with summer classes, ap classes, or prep school, how could it be ruled out? Morton and Dickinson both have great grades.

I've never heard anything that would suggest that Morton has ever even considered reclassifying to 2019.

He may have suggested that it was an outside possibility.
Now if someone read that as, Morton is going to reclassify then that's on them.
Possibilities exist, and while I thought the tone was optimistic in nature, the author didn't use any absolute terms, and left it more to the reader to project their own thoughts.
A combination of speculation and nuance left a storm of amusing contentious replies.
Look, it's still being talked about.

If Morton would choose Michigan, I'd say it's pretty hard to argue with that decision with a coach like Beilein. The guy can outright coach. I love Capel, but he has to prove himself in the coaching part over multiple years at a high level like Beilein has done.

They severely lack depth on Michigan, which is another reason its not a bad choice.
I hate reason because I really want him to stay home

Losing him to Michigan is bearable. But good lord, losing him to Marquette? That would be beyond disappointing and embarrassing for Pitt.
Maybe embarrassing for you bro. Most people could care less who beats us out if it happens.

I’d disagree with that “bro” and I’m guessing you’ll see most on board will care if he picks Marquette over Pitt. It’s a recruiting board that’s what people on here do.

Can never undestand why highly recruited Hoops locals go to ND, Michigan, etc when there is an incredible school that plays in a marquee league right down the street that you can stay home and play in front of friends and family as well. Guess to each his own but Capel is gonna build a Monster and hopefully kids like Morton jump aboard. H2P!
