We continue to get caught up in unreasonable expectations. Win 3 in a row against Cuse and duke and we get to feeling we are the '09 version of Pitt. I try not to let that happen but it always does. So we lose to last place Wake. At this point our program isn't that far advanced from Wake but it takes a team making 15 threes to edge us out at the buzzer to wake us up again [pun not intended]. Pitt is NOT a complete team yet. But our progress from 0-18 has been fine. So back to reality. I predicted Pitt would climb to the middle of the pack and avoid the dreaded first round game in the ACC Tournament. Those expectations are not unreasonable. So I look forward to the next game and carry on.

My expectations haven't changed since the season started. Expecting Pitt to be a bubble team and sneak into the NCAA tournament. Can't wait for UNC. I think Pitt will win two of these next three at home.
My expectation was that Pitt was going to start beating Wake Forest, especially with its first year coach. The same problems cropped up again last night and who knows if Capel will ever get enough good players needed to get back Pitt in the tournament.
X said after the Duke game, "We're no longer the Hunters, we're the Hunted". Well your poor little panther paw got caught in a trap! 
Huh? They have good enough players to make the tournament this year. They most definitely have good enough guys with a ton of added experience going into next season too.

Well it wasn't just the fans expectations. Justin declared Pitt is Back after beating Duke so he thought so too.
What does "back" mean? Nobody thought we were Glory Days back. We ARE back to Dixon II's bubble program. So yes, we are back in that regard.
Just like the football team prior to the NC State game, the team didn't handle success well. After starting to get more media coverage and talk of being ranked, they got overconfident and lost.

From watching a lot college hoops this, there are maybe, maybe 10 teams that are really good at 5 spots. That's it. Probably not even that many. Yes... There good enough to be anywhere from a 6 to 12 seed. Probably closer to a 12 seed. They have arguably the best player in the conference. That's a pretty big deal even if you're deficient elsewhere.
I thought the same exact thing. Hamlin was quoted "we don't get any respect" when we were omitted from the AP top 25. Then days later they wet themselves.
It’s a process. Like that Champ....(sp) kid for Pitt. This year is crazy. WVU is routinely ranked in top 10 (Goodman) to 15 range and we aren’t very good.
I could honestly see this season be the one season that the 2 favorites legit get to the natty without being tested very much. Of course, that’s ridiculous because they have to play 5 games but I mean relatively speaking.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the other 2 regions that get to F4 are a crapshoot. Iowa can’t play defense and is, well, Iowa. Nova is good but not to level of prior squads. KU doesn’t have a stud and is just good. ACC powerhouses are all down. Cuonzo Martin really doing nice things in Columbia, MO.

There are as many as 14 regular season games left, plus at least 1 ACCT game, if the remainder of the season can come off as planned.
Yesterday’s loss was certainly disappointing. In a 1 point game, so many individual plays could have possibly changed the outcome. But it is hyperbole to say that it is a season defining game. If Pitt had won yesterday but were to fall apart over those remaining 14 games no one would feel good about beating WF.
There is a LONG way to go this season. How the team handles yesterday will have a lot to do with where this all goes.
It’s ALWAYS about the next game. They really need to show some resolve and resiliency. Find the way to win a game like that. That’s what it’s all about.

It would have been nice if said best player took more than 12 shots. Perhaps had he taken 15 shots, we might have actually won by a point or two. Execution is about getting the ball to your best player.

Wake isnt much worse than Syr and Duke. There is virtually no difference between 3 and 15

They'll probably end up with 2-3 wins with a ton of close losses. They arent much worse than the #3 team. Starting with the #3 team, you're looking at 8/9 seed type teams. Wake can beat a team like that or play them really close. I dont think they are good but not that far off the bubble programs
So they’re gonna be 2-16 or whatever and they’re as good as the #3 team. You need to up your meds.
Not as good. But not that much worse than the 11-7 team who finishes 3rd
