So, we've discussed the current games and even though some have said not to play them, you have to.

So i'm curious if you all are in favor of extending the series with PSU?

Me personally....hell no. I don't want to be associated with them in any sport or for anything else. Let them rot in hell.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the word out of Nitland is that they're the ones not wanting it.

The best that could happen is for Pitt to win at least 3 of 4, and then say "Eff off" and never play them again. Leave them wanting...

I would like to see PSU and WVU on a yearly basis. College football is at it's best when it's a rivalry. You don't have to like or respect them to enjoy beating them! H2P

Rivalries mean more when they are the last game of the season and teams are in the same conference or general region as most of the Eastern teams were independent. Non-conference games against "old" rivals in September just don't seem to be as exciting.

Maybe that is what living in California the past 26 years has done to my "local rivalries". Don't see many people wearing much Hoopie or Nit stuff out here.

I would much rather play a program that is respected. A game against LSU, Florida,
USC, UCLA, Stanford, Auburn would be fantastic. We would be in a win win situation. If we win its a fantastic win. If we play a close game...It still looks good for perception.
Playing a program like Penn st who is a laughingstock across the country does nothing to elevate the program.

Regardless of the fact that Maryland and Rutgers are in the B1G, PSU has no real in conference rival. They are an outlying island.......

To play them.......helps them....with recruiting, with fan interest in PA. Why would we do that?

For years...the perception was that PSU doesnt need Pitt..... and that its the other way around.

Not any more.

I say focus on our ongoing feud with the A-Holes from Morgantown.

And let PSU starve to death on their own little island far far away from the Big Ten power centers....

What did Mark Nordenberg used to say, "You're judged by the company you keep".

Then the answer has to be "NO!"

I think you're gonna see wvu more. Psu maybe a home/home once a decade after this.

No cant wait for PITT sweep the Nitters and we'll be done with them.
Boring place to go in addition to them being some of the most arrogant, misguided, fans on this planet.
Lets get back with the Hoopies and some other quality programs!
Let them all sit around in a big giant circle and entertain eachother!

I'd like to see then drop a non conference game and add an additional conference game. Let's get FSU and Clemson to Pittsburgh more than once every 20 years.

It's hard to argue against this point. Conference opponents should face off more often than the schedule has dictated thus far.

No. I want that embarrassment to humanity to close its doors forever.

No way. These freak jobs are way to psycho for anyone to have a rivalry with. I get a kick out of the fact they have no meaningful rival games in the BIG 0 none. And although I am sure there are many decent folks at Creepy Valley but they are apparently a silent minority.

Looks like we will have an edge on them for a year or two and me thinks if Doozy keeps recruiting the way he is that cult will not want an automatic 5 loses a year with their butt clown of a coach.

Really miss the Neers that is a high energy rivalry for sure

Hail to Pitt

Amazed at the negativity................ well maybe not.

FWIW, I'm all for it. But it doesn't matter what anyone on this board thinks. It PSU was agreeable, Barnes would trip over himself in an effort to get it signed.

Nitters don't want to play PITT... Pinocchio why is your nose growing ....

Penn St. and Wvu...no more.

No nits because of that scandal - we should have taken a stand and never scheduled them imo.

Wvu is a glorified high school.

Let's develop some good rivalries within the ACC. I think we have one going w/ Va. Tech.

Penn St. and Wvu - not in our conference - move on - thing of the past.

It would be impossible for Penn State to commit to a long term home and home series with Pitt due to the B1G going to a 9 game schedule. To maintain 7 home games that only allows 1 home and home series on the schedule. So if Penn State would have a long term series with Pitt that would eliminate any chance for a home and home with another program.

Please the same could be said about Pitt. Pitt is as much as an outlier in the ACC as Penn State is in the B1G. Do you actually think Pitt is in much better shape because they play Syracuse? I suggest you take a geography course. Pitt is farther from opponents then Penn State. It would be worse if we look at division teams as Syracuse and Louisville are not even in the same division as Pitt.

314 Miles UVa to Pitt
325 Miles VT to Pitt
363 Miles Syracuse to Pitt
393 Miles Louisville to Pitt

199 Miles Maryland to Penn State
224 Miles Rutgers to Penn State
326 Miles Ohio State to Penn State
390 Miles Michigan to Penn State

And if we get killed??? psu is NOT a laughingstock....or close. Headed there, but most fans haven't followed them that closely.

No. I would like to schedule better opponents than PSU. They bring nothing to the table other than vile, arrogant a$$hole fans. They're going to be running their mouths and starting fights at Heinz. I've seen these sanctimonious bastards in action too many times to count

PSU is just another mediocre team. Pitt can do much better

I see your point. But whom would you rather have a home 'n home with? Pitt, or some "buy-a-win" patsy? Or is your AD's agenda to schedule some non-power5 schools that you'd negotiate to only play against in State College?

Is this even a real question? If PSU's on board, of course you extend the series. It's no brainer. Great for attendance and piques national interest and regional interest is through the roof for it already.

Yes they are.
Only to those who hate before they post. Pitt fans may think they are, but most elsewhere assume they'll be back to a high level. Franklin's not the guy to get them there, but the average FB fan in GA or MN don't know that, yet.

I would imagine as long as the dominator is coach you will see more of the "buy-a-win" type games instead of home/away with power5 schools.

Many nit fans I know want the more competitive non conference schedule but when the coach favors the easier road this is what the result is.

Looking back, Paterno did the same thing. The Nit fandom still cries over the times that the Nits had great records but didn't win the national title, but the national media - while often praising Paterno - knew that Paterno's schedules were less-than-difficult, so he didn't get the needed votes.

GO AWAY. Realize quickly that no one outside of your organization gives a damn about your organization.

Ideally I would prefer the B1G only played 8 games.

Penn state will always have 7 home games. like most program they simply can't afford not to so there will always be two one and done games. Until the NCAA mandate only 6 home games Pnn State will have 7. If Pitt was willing to do a one and done I would take that anyday but we all know that not going to happen.

I would like a rotation of teams. With only one slot I would like to see Pitt every few years. There are deals with Vt, WVU and LSU coming up that will be exciting.
