And Blake wasn't really a 4. Please. He was a wing. He spent 90% of his minutes behind the arc and averaged 4 RBs. Couldn't defend anyone.

Blake Hinson played the 4 for Pitt, both seasons he was here. 4's can be wings and Blake Hinson was a 4, and will play the 4 whatever level he plays next. Blake for 2 seasons, Champ for 2 seasons and a very solid season out of Gueye is an excellent hit rate at that position.

What? Gueye was excellent here, was a great evaluation by the staff here, and is on an NBA roster right now.

Blake played the 4 here, Gueye played the 4 here, and Champ played the 4 here. You can’t just decide that guys who played the position here aren’t “really” playing that position because their play style doesn’t align with how you think the position should be played. That’s what they played!

Exactly right.

It's just like the poster who says that Mike Young's senior season doesn't count as him being a good center, because even though he played center the whole year everyone knows that he's not really a center. It's doesn't matter where you "should" play, it matters where you do play.

Hinson was obviously a four.

Hinson was "mostly" a 4. When the starting lineup of Carrington, Lowe, Hinson, Austin, and Federico was on the court, Hinson was a 3. As soon as Leggett came in, Hinson moved to the 4. Leggett and the freshmen had so many minutes together that Hinson was a 4 far more than not. Regardless of the rest of the lineup, his style of play stayed the same.

Pitt needs a big and I don’t care what number you want to attach to him , that has muscle and can stand his ground defensively . If they could find someone who can score inside that would be a home run .
