Things will never change in the urban and suburban slums unless the feelings over facts attitude is done away with and a real and successful effort is made to suppress the gangs and get economic development.

I heard on the CBS News 2 nights ago I think it was that some economic plan for Ferguson that was set up after the first riots has managed, in a year, to bring 1,000 new jobs to the community. Now that is no small accomplishment but do you think 1,000 new jobs is anywhere near what Ferguson needs? It's nowhere near what Ferguson needs.

I understand why black people don't care that the facts don't support their anger over Michael Brown. For way too many black people life just sucks plain and simple. Crappy home, crappy job (if they have one), crappy neighborhoods full of drugs and crime, crappy people selling drugs and killing each other all the time, cops treating them like crap too much of the time, the much smaller number of stable two-parent families than the national average, all of it. There's little to no prospect of escaping it either. Most people are unhappy most or way too much of the time.

Then someone comes into their community with the stink of money on them and starts organizing and giving the people an easy target to blame: white racism. The only solution is to get angry and force white people to do *something* or other that usually has little if any connection to actually improving conditions. Well damn if I thought I had no way to make my life better and someone told me here's a way that also allows me to vent my anger at my life, I'd jump all over it.

Wouldn't be surprised if some gold company linked up with Beck or Rush does make a killing selling them gold. I never really understood that bit. If society collapses, what good is gold going to do you? It has only value when or if society recovers at least somewhat, or if people THINK it will. If it's Mad Max all over the place, gold is worthless.
