Few things I've heard

I heard some things today and I wanted to pass them along.

-- I think the transfer wave is done if what I have heard is correct. Pitt has Johnson, McGowens, Toney, Brown, George, and Chukwuka still in the fold, and I think it'll stay that way. I've heard Brown has been continuing to work with the coaching staff while some of the other guys that transferred weren't really doing that, so it seems like he will stick. Sounds like George will stay as well, and despite being a junior he's on track to graduate so for all intents and purposes he'll be like a senior next year and his scholarship will flip to 2020. So I think it's done, but college basketball is crazy so...**shrugs**

-- It sounds like the Sidy N'dir sixth year could still happen. I'm not sure what will play out, but both parties need to want it to happen and of course the NCAA is the big hurdle in terms of making it happen. But it sounds like his return is at least on the table still.

-- I think Chukwuka is in danger of missing a lot of next season recovering from this injury, so I'm not sure if that means he'll redshirt or get a hardship waiver, or he'll just simply return to the team when he's healthy, but I don't expect him to be ready for the beginning of the season.

-- I don't think we'll see more than two graduate transfers join Pitt next year. I think the staff knows they are probably a year away from really contending and they'd rather just let the freshman and sophomore classes get the bulk of the minutes so they'll be better for it in 2020-21. So...the 3 sophomores, 3 freshmen, Brown, and a pair of grad transfers could be your nine man rotation. Something like that, but it's still early to really figure anything like a rotation.

-- The way Pitt has thrown it's name into the ring with regular transfers, I could see Pitt snatching up two players like that and sit on them for a season and hope to make a run in 2 years. Like if they can grab two quality players like Quinerly and Sueing, they won't turn that down, even if they won't help next season.

-- I think Quinerly is a real possibility. Sounds like there is some optimism of landing him.

Beyond that, I think we'll start to get a few more nuggets with the dead period coming to a close and it'll start to get crazy here in the coming weeks. Sometimes college basketball goes on hold until the season is totally over for everyone. We kind of know the names like Sy, Diallo, and Robinson-Nkamhoua, but I think a few more HS prospects might surface. So we'll try to monitor that the best we can.
