That's a pretty big mistake, imo.

He did not have any to's left for the last 2 plays. He said he did not want to take a penalty to try to stop the last play, after he realized that they only had 10 on the field.

I'm pretty sure that's not what he said, seeing as to how they didn't actually have a timeout.

Maybe go back and reread the story you misread.
