CHAPEL HILL (NC) - As he sat down for his postgame press conference after Pitt’s 38-35 loss at North Carolina on Saturday, Pat Narduzzi pulled out a notepad.

That was for reference, as Narduzzi proceeded to list off the various plays that had gone wrong, the errors and mistakes and little details that derailed Pitt’s bid for its first 2-0 start in ACC play since 2015 and its first win against UNC since joining the conference in 2013.

He mentioned a holding penalty on a punt, a fumbled kickoff return, an offsides penalty - but before he got into those plays, before he listed the minutiae of Pitt’s latest defeat at the hands of the Tar Heels, he uttered these nine words:

“A little bit of the same old, same old.”

Right Chris, and no more excuses why Pitt can't score or play defense in the second half, because of the number of possessions, or who stopped a big run or big play with a penalty, Pitt just flat out stinks in the 2nd half 2 1/4 points a game in the 2nd half 10 total points in 4 games in the second half. While giving up I think around 78 points. So, no more of your excuses why Pitt sucks in the 2nd half

Narduzzi found time to blame just about everyone and everything... Notably missing in his "same old, same old" is same old coach. You're running out of excuses Pat.

Well someone wondered last week, what is he writing on the sidelines all the time, there ya go

That detective notebook bothered me. They showed him doing it at least 3 times yesterday. At first I was hoping he was writing down changes he was seeing that pitt needed to do. Instead it was just used to point out mistakes. How is that different than viewing tape after the game, unless you are using it only to have references for your press conference.

Maybe we can transfer his salary to the campus police department.

So he is saying the coaching staff is not doing their job getting these kids ready to play football.
