Assuming we lose to Clemson and win against Ga.Tech ( but anything is possible for both games) we would finish the regular season at 8- 3 which most of us predicted when the revised schedule came out If those two friggin one point losses to NC State and BC were reversed.I know it’s not reality and will finish 6-5 instead but it seems like every year recently it’s a similar scenario. Last year the two losses to Miami and BC prevented an 10-3 season. The year before when we won the Coastal the losses to Miami and Stanford put us at 7-7 instead of a nine win season. We need more playmakers on both sides of the ball which I think these past few recruiting classes are starting to produce.
Great job to the players and the staff by not throwing the towel in after the four straight losses, the Ford opt out , numerous injuries and of course the COVID issues. I think if we get most of the players back for the Clemson game we could be competitive with them and who knows What could happen. But even with a loss and a win against GTech and if they allow bowl games and we get an opponent we could beat 7-5 would be a disappointment but considering the four game losing streak and other issues somewhat acceptable.
