With the OB hosting a semifinal this year, I know the ACC champ is still guatanteed a NY6 bowl game (probably Peach) if they don't make the playoff. However, is the highest ranked non-champion of the SEC, B10, or ND still guaranteed a spot since they cant play in the Orange this year? I realize this is a moot point because those teams notmally will go to a NY6 game without needing a guaranteed spot but it could affect the Citrus Bowl.

In years, where the Big Ten sends a team to to the Orange, the ACC/ND get the Citrus. So, if MSU or Iowa finished ranked ahead of the SEC or ND, does the ACC/ND get the Citrus?

I'm not 100% sure, but that BIG/SEC deal I think is only for the Orange bowl.

In fact, I'm 99.9999% sure that is the case.

I think all of that only applies in the years when the Orange is not in the playoff. So-

Ok so it looks like FSU or ND to Russell Athletic.

The Tier 2 Bowl teams will be (right now anyway): FSU/ND, Pitt, UNC, Duke

One more question. How does the Gator/Music City deal work? ACC/ND sent a team to MC last year. Does that mean we get the Gator this year?

For Pitt, I think our bowl prospects are pretty clear. Peach (if we win ACCCG) or Pinstripe (if we win 2 more games). They'll keep us in the north.

Agree with you on Pitt's chances.

Right now, if ND wins out, I think they will go to a NY6 bowl as well.

Normally, I think the Pinstripe is a good bowl. But the date sucks this year. Dec 26 at 3:30. I would think about going but that means leaving at 6AM. That's a tough sell for the family.

We seem to never play on a traditional bowl game date. By that I mean Dec 27-Jan 1. How many times in the last 20 years have we played on those dates? I can only think of a few.

Fiesta Bowl obviously. Sun Bowl and Liberty Bowl were Dec 31 games. Insight games in 2000 and 2002 were in that window as well. More than I had originally thought or how it seems. I count 3 Dec 26 games (Tire x2 and Pizza). All of the Armed Forces and Compass came after. Tangerine in 2001 was before Christmas. I probably missed something in there

I thought the UVa Tire Bowl was NOT Dec 26. The ORST Insight win WAS Dec 26 I think.
