Nice to see a decommit become a recommitment. I wonder if picking up 2 QBs in the portal changed his mind?
He did say Minchey was a factor in decommitting. One of them. Probably thought more money was out there. Who knows.
Were you not the one who said LOUDLY…..Minchey didn’t matter and it was no big deal when he and Fowler decomitted???? Now it works in your favor your tune changed ? Minchey is a big loss. Truth is Fowler couldn’t get a better offer he wanted. Period
It's hard to say how any of these guys will pan out in the future. After all, there is a reason Pitt is taking 5 or 6 WRs in this class. The cream will rise to the top. Obviously not all of them will pan out. But the narrative that guys were decommitting because they didn't like the system, or the program was falling apart or whatever... that was always a myth.
Minchey isn't good enough to be anointed QB of the future anywhere where he goes, and that would be true even had he signed with Pitt. And I'm not overly excited about any particular recruit, no matter who they are. With the rules the way they are today, just because they are here today, doesn't mean they are going to stay for any length of time.
That might have been me. Minchey sucks...look at this tape and the competition he played. He would have never started at PITT.
good post, i am done being excited at all about any incoming QB high school recruit. Honestly, i give it 50/50 that even the PSU QB transfer ever starts a game for us...
If you were a betting man, what odds would you want that Dieffenbach is even on the roster in 2025 (when he even has a chance to be the starting QB)? Maybe 4:1 odds, probably even 5:1..
All it proves is you can go out and look for a better offer and if you don't get one come back to us and we will still take you. No different than the wpial kids that go out and leave then comeback that we take. He though life wad greener some place else and when he didn't get the offer who cares because Pitt will still be there
Maybe, maybe not, if you are good enough and have a good attitude you maybe welcomed back. Still there is no guarantee you get on the field at all so it's pretty much an even deal.
