FSU has now put 31 points on UNC in the first 30 min. Half time score FSU 31 UNC 7.
Because of style I wouldn’t be shocked at all if our annual upset comes in the ND game. Would I bet on it? No effin way. But I still wouldn’t be stunned if we pulled one off in that game.
Not sure how much football you watch, but Mack Brown is a great recruiter, solid motivator and seems like a nice guy. Great football coach he is not. If you hire a Mack Brown, or an Ed Orgeron, or a Herm Edwards, or a Dave Wannstedt you also need to spend the money to hire great assistants to handle the X’s and O’s, because the aforementioned coaches aren’t really capable of doing that on their own.
You can certainly win with those guys, but you also need to put out a ton of money to make sure they are surrounded by the best assistants money can buy.
Ummmm - they lost. And if they had won it would have been against a losing team that they were favored to beat. So yeah.
True - but Mack Brown has won a ton of games, including a Natty. And they are in a much better position as a football program right now than we are. They have a Top 5 recruiting class at the moment and a lot more talent on their current roster.
Can't dispute their recruiting. But Brown had arguably better talent annually at Texas with unlimited funds for assistants and was eventually replaced.
Hey - he may do very well at UNC. I'm just saying let's wait and see if his rep of being a questionable game day coach rears its ugly head. Honestly they were what a 2? TD favorite for this game? Let's not pretend they lost to Clemson. This was a BAD loss for UNC.
Brown and Coach O are just so much alike, a lot to like about both of them in a lot of ways. Scary bad decision making on game days for both on occasion, but definitely great recruiters.
Ive mentioned this on here before, but in the brief period he was announcing I heard enough of Mack Brown opining on down/distance clock management issues to tell me he should never, ever, ever be the guy making those decisions. Even the announcers that I always poke fun of were embarrassed for him.
Yes bad game day coach, but great recruiter and Texas really hasn't played up to expectations since he left and don't be surprised if their coach is fired.
If I said I don't watch football and I've never played would it matter !
I'm still a fan of Brown, that was my comment.
The only football I don't watch is my hometown Steelers because of the fn rooneys and the stupid Antoine rose decision.
Still a fan of their coach, NC has the same problem as our Panthers... can't catch.
Appears the recruits like him as well...
Of all the coaches I've met and watched... top 5 no question just like his recruiting.
