FSU/Mia

I thought I'd respond to
this as opposed to SMF's
beyond delusional theory
of 3pt % and winning. ( As
often, hijacking a perfectly
good thread. )

What struck me more than
the ending, is UNC with
clearly superior talent,
finding themselves in a
nailbiter like this in the
first place. It wasn't just
this particular gaame, it
been like this all season.
Similar to UNC last year. They didn’t put it together til the tourney.

UNC looks very disinterested this season. I don't know why that would be.

BTW, just looking at Pitt games only, Pitt shot 48% on threes against Vanderbilt, while Vanderbilt shot 32%. Against North Carolina, Pitt shot 20% on threes while North Carolina shot 32%. Against Virginia, Pitt shot 32% on threes while Virginia shot 43%. Against Georgia Tech Pitt shot 30% on threes while Georgia Tech shot 41%.

That's four games already this season from just one team that go against your theory.

Shocking.

Oh, wait, not shocking.

Cool. Now, do the other 10,000 games played this season and get back to me. When the discrepancy is 10% or greater, the team with the better % wins 75% of the time.

Lets look at this week:

Miami 48% (loss but within 10%)
Duke 43%

Syr 43%
GT 32%

UVa 44%
Wake 33%

BC 58%
ND 39%

FSU 50%
Pitt 25%

NC State 29% (loss but within 10)
UNC 22%

VT 53%
Duke 39%

Miami 50%
FSU 14%

ND 43% (loss)
NCSU 30%

Clemson 45%
GT 17%

Syr 44% (lost but not within 10%)
UNC 38%

Pitt 49%
Wake 37%

Lou 50%
BC 36%

VT 27% (lost by 1)
Clem 17%

Teams who outshot by 10% or more were 8-3. 73%. Now look at the teams who lost:

ND lost to NC State, but only by 3
VT lost to Clemson, but only by 1
Lou lost to BC because they lost the TO battle by 9 and FT's by 13.

I dont know why you are fighting me on this. If you did all 10K games or however many there are, you'd see I'm right.

I'm not fighting you. I am merely pointing out you are posting and defending something that you pulled straight out of your rear end. And it's something that the team that we all root for and pay attention to puts the lie to.

It's not a fight to watch you try to justify things that you pull out of your butt that don't make any sense, it's comedy in action.

Put a number on it. When a team outshoots its opponent by 10%, what percentage of games does it win? 40%? 50%? I'm saying 75%. And when they outshoot by 20%, its 90%.
