Glorious, just glorious.

As many noted, it is SO nice being on this end of things - where having a stud backcourt puts you in a position to win almost any game. Even going earlier than Howland/Dixon we have been tortured several times a year being on the end of these types of games where guards pretty much single handidly beat otherwise decent or even good Pitt teams.

Again - treasure watching X and Tre. Special times with these two. I mean, to even have one guard like them - both can hit the three, both can get to the hoop and convert, both are plus FT shooters, both play tough D. Both are fearless, tough and play edgy.

Good to see Toney knock down a few threes, and a solid conversion off balance on that late dish from Tre.

These two day turnaround games are tough - the Panthers clearly had a hang over at the start. Fortunately, FSU had the same turnaround, was probably a little burnt out after letting the NC game get away from them, and was one the road - that dynamic played to Pitt's benefit vs going down to NC State.

The one thing that has struck me in these matchups against these upper half ACC teams is they are SO much deeper than Pitt, they are running out their 8-9 guys who would have been one of the top three or four guys for the Panthers last year. If Tre and X and keep it up, Toney keeps improving, and the other cogs do their part, we might see some ACC wins that aren't 40 minute back and forth life and death encounters.

The other thing is that in these four ACC games, the loose balls and weird bounces seem to be breaking against the Panthers a bit disproportionately. Part of that is them getting hammered on the D boards, but just seems that if these things level of the norm that bodes well in pulling out some wins moving forward.

In retrospect, his going to the zone even though they were not in as desperate foul trouble as they were down at NC State, probably was a way of trying to manage them physically with the two day turnaround.

As many have noted, HCJC is getting the absolute most from everyone in the rotation. I also agree, these two wins are games they can point to and help with recruiting - just have to pull a few more big wins out, and also take care of business against the lower half ACC teams.
