Future is so bright at Pitt

this is going to be a special team.

The backups looked excellent and building depth at every position

-I hate saying wait until next year, but every Top team we played this year is going to lose their All Star QB and WR in the 1st or 2nd round of the NFL draft outside the Penn State QB. And there is no way in hell all 5 of those teams are going to pull another rabbit out of the hat and find another 1st round NFL replacement sitting around. Some of these teams should start to tank.

-Just get Wade and fix the secondary, and big things are in store.

If you want to talk about special years, talk about 2018. They lose very little in the 2017 senior class and will have a QB with a year under his belt.

Will not have officer, JJS or O'Neill. Way too early to predict but just out of curiousity, why would you be excited for '18 more than '17?

A word of caution. Remember 13-9? How that was supposed to be the big launch point to great things? Yeah, how'd that next season go...

NOPE, agree to disagree, this ain't Penn State, this is the Pitt Panther-Lair, No Excuses, No Waiting, No Negative Recruiting Whining, No Sanctions Crying, Pitt will be Ready To Play on Day One in 2017 and at the Whiteout! Where 'Oh, Canada" Will be Sung!

WEAH Pitt!

Narduzzi & Staff is not Wannstedt & Staff start to get use to it, plus, there is no Re-Pederson around anymore!

For a "New ERA Panther" you sound like a Forlorn Lost PnnyLiar in his own Dumpster Of Penn State Yesterday Minds & $2.4 Fine$? Just a Hunch!

We were 5-7 that year (including the win at WVU). The next 3 years we averaged 9 wins and we're one game away from a Big east title and a trip to the Orange Bowl.

This team is starting at a higher floor, so I bet the have a higher ceiling.

Absolutely - now the students and alums need to step up.
Students have been great this year generally speaking...even though it's not as easy as rolling out of your South Oakland bed, going to a house party and walking up the hill. Our Alum have always been fickle and not too supportive.

The students had 1 good game - PS.

Only Sr's worth a damn leaving are listed below and only JJ Smith seems to be the tough replacement.
Weah - WR crew of Matthews, Henderson, Flowers, Tipton will do.
Maddox - Hamlin, Miller, Wade, Coleman, Jackson will be able to fill the void
Wirginis - Brightwell, Pine, Pugh, Zeise, Bright, Reynolds will fill the void
Blair/Edwards - Not that great to begin with, but Hendrix, Gilbert, Jones, Weaver, Folston
Taleni - We got some beasts here. Watts, Camp, Wheeler, Twyman, Herndon
JJ Smith - Big unknown, but Warren and HOPEFULLY Munford are battling for this role
Officer - Drexel and Dintino can fight for this
Winslow - Not that great anyways, get the Ausie in there!

I don't see O'Neill leaving early. I think he still has a lot of work to do to polish off his game before he becomes a 1st rounder. Narduzzi's going to be in year 4 and the team will be dominated by his players. 2017 can be in the 7-10 win range, but 2018 will be in the 9-11 win range IMO.

the future is bright for sure.

I hope we can keep Canada, would like to have his system a few years so we can get a coach to learn the system better. Seems we have had quite a few OCs over the past 10 years

+ we lost 3 games by a total of I think don't hold me to it 11 pts>???
We easily could have had an unbelievable year ex the Miami letdown!

I would even say if they win 2 of those 3 games...a different team shows up in Miami. It's been an exciting year.

Honestly even if we had the Miami game, still a different year if we win 2. We would have the same record as Ped state and we beat them head to head, so one would have to think we would be ranked ahead of them... meaning... damn good ranking!

Yeah, the team could have been in an entirely different mindset if they had held onto beat UNC and taken care of business against VT. That Miami game would have practically locked up the division. Of course, the same is true with Clemson maybe approaching our game differently.

All in all, a lot of reason for optimism and some reason for some disappointment because we were so close to winning the division. Now we just need to take care of business against SU and the bowl, and finish really, really strong in recruiting with some surprises we aren't currently on.

Good point!
I'm a glass is half full guy and I think are coaches are too starting with Narduzzi.
They did a great job keeping the team up after close losses which are worse than when you play bad and get beat.
I also think the players like when Narduzzi blows a gasket in support of them. I always liked coaches like that.
So we don't give up 1st Q turnovers in the VT game we win, we make play or a stop in the NC game we win, OSU we hung in tough, and oh well Miami.
A two loss maybe one lose season was there so next year will be exciting!

Well if this year shows anything it's play a crap schedule and you'll be ranked high.

We shouldn't play any more good teams. Other fans bitch at it as we do ped state every year but at the end of the day wins/losses is all that matters. If you're 8-4 against a top 10 schedule an10-1 Boise st will still be ahead of you. It's debatable if that's right

Yes. The only time strength of schedule matters is when you are a top 4 playoff contender. And guess what? In a few years that won't even matter because the path to focus on will be conference champion auto berths.

That is true, really it is. And if we are every in that stratosphere and we are all bitching about us not playing better teams to get SOS up, then so be it. I would take that and a number 4 rating anyday.

This Saturday is a big game. Hope we don't lose focus, 8-4 with this schedule is very good especially with the loses being so close

Tennessee Vols fan here, gotta say I love your coach. Tough as nails and seems to be a great motivator. How does everyone feel about the little Italian? I assume everyone likes...thanks, good luck rest of way and so glad y'all beat that whiney ass guy at that other Pennsylvania school. Oh, and thanks for delivering the next POTUS.
