I hate to make final score predictions because most are wrong from just about everyone so I won't.
That said, in my opinion Pitt will be able to run the ball, but if they can't truly incorporate a downfield passing attack OSU will be able to slow the run game in the later stages. Pitt simply can't afford three and outs in this game either, they absolutely must eat clock on every possession and keep OSU's offense off the field.
Big XII teams can all throw it around (except Kansas haha), they can all go up tempo and they can put up points quickly at times - while I acknowledge that some of the Big XII defenses are suspect. OSU clearly isn't running the ball very well right now. I would expect Pitt will ensure that trend continues.
So in the end this comes down to whether or not the offense can control the clock and score touchdowns, rather than relying on a shaky kicking game, and if the defensive line can create enough pressure to help out the secondary. Pitt will make OSU one-dimensional. But If OSU is able to protect the QB and throw the ball around that one dimension could very well be enough.
