That was a pretty big win for our Panthers. After getting to 7 wins, this team has already met my prediction for wins this season and we have 2 regular season games to go (plus the bowl game). Safe to say that Narduzzi has already over performed. First Pitt coach in a heck of a long time that I could say that about.

On to the game itself:

The Good:

1. WR's not named Boyd were very good. Nice to see Zach Challingsworth have a big, big game. He was outstanding. Dontez Ford was also very good. Boyd had a quiet game receiving (although he was getting held quite a bit).

2. Peterman was really good. Peterman made some very nice throws today. He hit the right receivers and put the ball mostly in spots that only our guys could make the play. I thought this was his best game yet as a Panther.

3. Oline was solid. They game Peterman plenty of time to throw. Run blocking was good, not great, but overall a solid performance with one exception (more on that later).

4. Caprara had his best game as a Panther. I've been critical of Caprara in the past, but he played well this game. Grigsby was also solid.

5. Jordan Whitehead is a stud. Wow, this kid is the real deal. He hits, he can cover. Enjoy him while he's here and when he's playing on Sundays.

6. Kicking game was very good. Our punting was very good today and Blewitt nailed a very important FG from 51. Nice job.

Needs Work:

1. What was going on with Rowell today? He was missing blocks, snapped the ball at the wrong time. Worst game I've seen from him all year.

2. RB's still need work. Ollison had the one big run. Besides that, no one really stood out. Mr Sanders come on down. We need the help.

3. Sorry, but Matt Galambos is still very, very average. Way too many plays that we got gashed right up the middle.

Overall, we played asolid game. Big win. Let's hope Miami can knock off the Tarheels.

Would have started to feel some pressure going on a three game losing streak. Getting to 7 after a run of 6 win seasons, pressure is off a bit and they can play looser, hopefully.

Boyd had a quiet game receiving (although he was getting held quite a bit). Challingsworth doesn't really get open too much, but if he can continue to develop and learn to use his size and skills, he can help. Ford continues to slowly develop. Peterman just has to have confidence in them and figure out how to use them.

2. Peterman was really good. Peterman made some very nice throws today. He hit the right receivers and put the ball mostly in spots that only our guys could make the play. I thought this was his best game yet as a Panther. He's a gamer. A lot of his TDs have been VERY tough throws.

This was a game where there was not such a great talent discrepency like there was against ND and to a lesser extent NC. Given more reasonable competition, his limited athletic ability was not as much of a hinderance.

5. Jordan Whitehead is a stud. Wow, this kid is the real deal. He hits, he can cover. Enjoy him while he's here and when he's playing on Sundays.

YEP, Ollison really is not a top back at all, just the best of a mediocre lot, though Hall might be able to develop a bit more. Sanders would look REALLY good here.

3. Sorry, but Matt Galambos is still very, very average. Way too many plays that we got gashed right up the middle. Duzz has to upgrade on guys like Rowell and Galambos - they can beat the other top 30ish teams with them, but getting solidly in the top 20, they have to do better. Pugh, if he is eligiable, is a start.

Overall, we played asolid game. Big win. Let's hope Miami can knock off the Tarheels.
