I am reading an autobiography by Rex Chapman. For you young guys he played in college like 40 years ago. He only played for 2 years in college. But he was talking about all the money he and his family got. From free cars, to money to his dad, to envelopes whenever he needed. He kept a shoebox for him and his roommate that he said was always full of cash and checks.
He also said that Kentucky offered him at least $700,000 to come back instead of turning pro. It was just crazy to me to think about that kind of money back then.
