Since people don't like Goodman and like Parrish, here's his list of 10 (in no order):

1. Archie Miller (with the qualifier that it's super unlikely)
2. Andy Enfield
3. Dan Hurley
4. Ed Cooley
5. Mick Cronin
6. Bryce Drew
7. Herb Sendek
8. Mike Lonergan
9. Kevin Willard
10. Greg Kampe

Slightly depressing.

2 and 6 are good from that list

Absolute *NO* to #5, #7, #9, and #10

*MAYBE* to #2, #3, and #6.

MEH to #4 and #8.

#1 has zero chance.

It will be none of those...... and I'll quit watching the team if it is Herb freaking Sendek or Mick freaking Cronin.

2-4-5 would be credible hires that I'd be fine with.

6 is a gamble, but I think people would like the hire.

8 is underrated.

I don't like the other names as fits here.

Names that could surface? Nice article on speculation from nothing.

2 or 5 would be ok.

What about Kevin Stallings at Vandy? I hear he's unhappy there.

Kevin Stallings would be interesting. No facilities at Vandy and he recruits very well. Sheldon Jeter may not enjoy the hire though.

People really think Mick Cronin would be a good choice?

Really?

Wow.

I had to go back to make sure #5 was Cronin.

Again.... wow.

The UNLV Board of Regents is meeting this evening and deciding whether or not to approve a pending offer to Mick Cronin of slightly more than 2 million per year, which is double what they paid Lon Kruger.

Most people here think Cronin is just using this offer as a bargaining chip, and few seem very enthused about him as a candidate.

No, Vandy fans are unhappy. He has struggled more than Dixon recently.

Vandy fans are weird. Stallings has had a nice run at Vandy and he's a very good coach at a school that isn't the easiest place to win. I think they won the SEC tourney back in either 2012 & 2013. That said, I wouldn't like that hire at Pitt either.

Instead of Kevin Stallings or Mick Cronin, hire Kevin Cronin. He could deliver killer postgame concerts. And you really should consider Auriemma. he's dying to prove himself as a mens coach

If Pitt was where they were when they hired Howland, I'd actually consider Geno if he really wanted to make that move, but not now.

that list is terrible. I think barnes has a better list. after the fiasco that went down yesterday, for some reason I still have faith barnes will get it right

Your program is way too good to pick Hurley. Many Rutgers fans didn't want Hurley, and RU is quite a ways down the list from your program in basketball.

Hurley= Awful.

If Barnes wants a coach that will recruit his arse off, and promote the program to increase attendance, I would see if Bruce Pearl might be interested. He comes with a little baggage, and I'm not sure if Pitt would be cool with that, but he's a proven commodity. He had some horrible luck this year, but he really has AU poised to make a big turnaround.

I would hope that Bruce Pearl is not even being remotely mentioned as a candidate. I'd have to go to every game and hold my nose just to watch it. VERY poor candidate.

If you are going with Pearl, then you go with Kevin Keats. Keats has a "little baggage" (Louisville). Pearl has a Landfill of Baggage. TD, you keep on forgetting, Pitt is not some hilljack SEC school here.

Hell, if you would take Pearl, then you make the call to the 859 area code and ask a guy there if he would be interested in coming home.

Pearl has much longer, more successful track record than Keats.

Pitt is not some hilljack SEC school? What the hell does that even mean?

Cal makes close to $8 million a year at UK. If Cal is interested in coming home, he can purchase a place anywhere in the 412. If Pitt wanted Cal as a coach, they should have hired him 13 years ago.

It's odd to me that Dayton is seen as a better job by A. Miller and his dad? It's in Ohio for God sakes! Just another rust belt city? And Pitt is in the freaking ACC!

The list should include names like -

Dan Majerle
Jerod Haase
Jay Larranaga
Chris Jent
Russell Turner
Adrian Griffin

In addition to some of the aforementioned names like -

Bryce Drew
Kevin Keatts
Will Wade

I like Brandin Knight as much as almost all of those guys (don't think Wade is realistic), but Barnes won't hire him because he doesn't want his first major hire to be some who was assistant on current staff. It's an ego thing.

I think people that want to fire every somewhat successful coach here at Pitt that doesn't win a national championship are finally realizing the reality of how the Pitt job(s) is really viewed from the outside.

I don't think they are. He went 3 straight years (finishing 10th, 10th, and 7th in a very mediocre SEC) without an NCAAT bid and then barely got in this year to the First Four after drastically underachieving.

When you say that, do you mean: "Pitt doesn't care about winning"?
