Just heard from Coach Gavin a few minutes ago. He confirmed that Dayton Pitzer will redshirt.

reinjuring his knee and of course he will bulk some strength and get ready to be a 4 year phenom!

This is the right move. He wasnt a guarantee for the podium and thats what Pitt needed from him.

I don’t think so. The plan since his recruitment was to redshirt this year. The Midlands performance made that a tougher decision to make, but I think Dayton, the family and coaches felt this was the right one.
His odds of being high on the podium in his redshirt senior season would seem to be significantly higher than they would be this season.
