George Aston ~ Folk Hero

What a great kid to have on the team. I look forward to watching Aston this season. H2P
Pitt has all the weapons on Offense ready and waiting if the QB Browne Executes and is Protected with Great Game Plans and calls by OC Watson.

The Wide Outs in Weah, Tipton, Henderson, Matthews & Recruit Smith can't be stopped just kept contained. Back Ups too.

The Running Backs Moss, Hall, Ollison, and Recruit Davis combine with FFrench and Henderson Jet Sweeps, Dump Offs, and Screens can run like a Wild Whirl Wind!

The New Tight Ends Blocking and being Safety Values at Perfect Times to make that Third Down, it will take a few games but they will be there.

Leaving the Aston Bulldozing, Blocking, and Short Passes punishing anyone that dare thinks they can stop him. Reminds me of Marshawn Lynch one can key on him but still picks up that 1 to 2 to 5 yards needed at the right time.

George's father is from the Pittsburgh area. And, still lives there.

George's high school coach told Old Dominion (I'm pretty sure that's the school in question), when they were considering offering a scholarship or asking him to walk on, that if they didn't offer him a scholarship, they could watch him play somewhere else on Saturdays.

Talk about the one that got away.

Along with Henderson (and Canada's innovative play calls), Aston was making things happen last year that I had to blink my eyes and wonder if I actually saw them. That's not testimony I give lightly about Pitt sports... not in a positive sense anyway!

Agreed. Some of the catches, runs, and blocks by Aston certainly were not indicative of what one would expect from a former walk-on. He plays extremely hard every snap; either looking for a guy to punish whether running or blocking. It will be interesting to see if he continues to develop into even more of a weapon under Watson's tutelage.
