I don’t know the story but good for them. You don’t see much accountability anymore in sports, nor life. Ewing seems like a no BS kinda dude to begin with.
Akinjo may see the coming collapse of the Hoyas, and decided now was as good a time as any to jump off of a sinking ship. This is a crazy turn of events. It seems as if Akinjo leaving isn’t related to the kids with off-court issues, so GTown lumping him into the same release is just an awful thing to do.
I’ve been a fan of Akinjo’s game since he won Peach Jam with the Oakland program. Rumor was that he got star struck by Ewing after he de-committed from Connecticut and hastily chose GTown but has been looking to get back West. I wish we could get involved here because this kid is a total throw back Pitt guard, but I think geography isn’t our friend in this case

There are a lot of things floating around, so who knows. It’s just unfortunate the school chose to lump him in with a guy with disciplinary issues. He’s going to be a hot commodity on the transfer market. Off the top of my head, UCLA would make a ton of sense if he’s trying to get back to California. Arizona too, depending on what happens to Mannion
Have to perform due diligence on Akinjo. He would be a huge help here. Seems like Capel did offer him but we were nowhere close. He'll have a ton of calls.

Could be interesting if there isn't any baggage--we don't know about that. If he transfer now he will be eligible to play 2nd semester of next season (2020-21) I believe.
