GT beat Maryland 9-4 in the Championship Game of the ACC Baseball Tournament.

GT was a #9 seed and had to play 5 games in 6 days to win the Tournament ..... they are the highest seed to ever win the ACC Baseball Tournament.... Maryland was a #6 seed this year.

Attendance for the Championship Game was 4,186.

I'm sure they're shaking their heads wondering how they got swept by Pitt just like we're shaking our heads wondering how we could sweep GT but get swept by Notre Dame.

Florida State, Virginia earn national seeds[/I][/B]
GREENSBORO, N.C. ? Seven Atlantic Coast Conference teams, including two national seeds, will be among the 64-team field when the 2014 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship gets underway with regional play on Friday.
The seven bids ranks second among all conferences nationally. It marks the sixth straight season that the league has sent at least seven teams to the tournament, and the ninth time in the last 10 years.
Virginia was awarded the No. 3 national seed, while Florida State is No. 5. At least two ACC squads have earned a national seed in five straight tournaments.
The two longest all-time tournament streaks were extended this year. Miami is making its 42nd consecutive regional appearance, while Florida State is in for the 37th straight time.

It is kinda....

amazing that a team as epically bad as Youngstown State (16-36) made the NCAA tournament. Even more amazing than the fact that they beat us one of the two times we played them.

I wonder if that's the worst record ever for an NCAA tournament team?
