They had 1 ncaa appearance in 1995 before them
You’re mistaken

Dan Monson was their coach when they had that first Cinderella run. He left for Minnesota and then Few took over.Few has been coach since 1999

Actually, he is right. Gonzaga reached the Elite 8 in 1998-99 when Dan Monson was HC and Few was an assistant.Few has been coach since 1999

Like I said 1 ncaa appearance in 1995 prior to few and few was on the staffDan Monson was their coach when they had that first Cinderella run. He left for Minnesota and then Few took over.
Don’t get me wrong, Few absolutely built Gonzaga from a cute story to a National power. Was just stating fact for those who didn’t remember.Like I said 1 ncaa appearance in 1995 prior to few and few was on the staff
What was their "angle" to get this good, to become a DESTINATION team for top players, like Duke, UNC, Kentucky etc.
Yes, this is absolutely correct.Because they became the west coast destination for foreign players, mainly from places like Australia. And they did that because they recruited those places harder than everyone else. Once kids like that saw that they could have some success there it became easier to get more of them on board. And so on, and so on.
