Good game plan by Narduzzi overall

I know some of the haters will question this. But Narduzzi had a good game plan for PSU as the offense controlled time of possession and outgained PSU. He also had the defense ready. This is PSU's year and they are the better team and they were hungry (even if DBag wants to lie and say they didn't care about the game). But if Pitt executes the game plan yesterday and doesn't make so many mistakes we could have won that game.

The biggest takeaway for me is how much we miss Biz and Bisnowaty along with Peterman. The good news to me is that the offense has more new major pieces and a new coordinator so perhaps can improve. Browne definitely looked bad and I have low confidence in him. But he didn't get much help from his line or receivers.

We were missing the following starters from last year's game: Ashton, Biz, DoJo, Peterman, Conner, Orndorff, Whitehead, Price, Galambos, Jarrett, and Soto. PS was a Top 5-10 team last year and had almost everybody back. We were playing at their place. The coaching staff did a good job. Some people within this fanbase just cannot help themselves from acting like imbeciles.

Pitt put themselves in a position to win the game, couldn't quite pull it off.

Pitt will be fine. I am not impressed by Browne. Haven't seen enough of DiNucci to really make a call there.

Nice post!

The players just weren't good enough to execute the game plan. It isn't saying they won't be good enough by the end of the year with all of the extra experience, but Pitt had a ton of quality players to replace. Ball control is a perfect way to limit an opponent with explosive playmakers and Pitt did a very good job of that for the most part on both sides of the ball. The problem was that given the talent gap, there was very little room for error and Pitt had too many self inflicted mistakes that could have kept them within one score.

It would have been nice to see what we could have done with all the guys who got hurt or suspended. The injuries were bad luck and suspensions were dumb decisions by the players. You add another 6 guys that would be in the 2 deep. If this staff gets the proper financial support, then there is no doubt in my mind this is the best HC since Jackie. The question is will Pitt fans and the administration step up.

Second week in a row no one really made any plays.

Pitt did some things OK but when you need 12 or 15 plays to score you are doing it the hard way. Same with defense. Needs some sacks and turnovers. True stops are hard to get.
