It was a weekend of firsts for Nakia Griffin-Stewart, as the Rutgers tight end made his first official visit as a graduate transfer and also made his first visit to the city of Pittsburgh.
Of course, the two firsts overlapped, as Griffin-Stewart’s first official visit was spent seeing what Pitt has to offer as he considers options for his final year of eligibility.
“I’ve never been to Pittsburgh ever; it was my first time,” he told Panther-Lair.com. “It was a pleasnt surprise. It wasn’t what I expected it to be in a positive way. It turned out to be a lot more lively, interesting and intriguing than I thought. I was next to New York City so I was used to the chaos and madness that goes on over there in Manhattan. So I didn’t know what to expect; I know no city is like New York City but Pittsburgh definitely had its positives and I fell in love with the city this weekend.”
