Need to clean up a few things, but the Panthers *should* win a tournament title for the first time in.... 11 years? I don’t care what the trophy says, a title is a title.

I think the rebounding story proved you don’t need elite or even very good bigs. You need guys who are willing to play hard, force bad/long shots and go after the damn ball.

Also, this was something like the 5th time in 6 games TB had 5 blocks or more. Very big in the defense and forcing guys to shoot bad shots. He’s not lighting the world on fire, but he’s adequate for what this team needs. Anyone who has dreams of replacing him with a freshmen next year need to get that out of their heads.

5 or more blocks for TB yesterday, box score I saw only gave him credit for 2? Although, almost every game it seems like he has more than what they give him credit for in the box score.

That might not be right. It may have been the 6 games *before* last night. Or some other stat about Pitt winning. I was a little drunk when my friend sent it to me.

I think most of us would have taken 5-2 at this point in the season. I am probably more optimistic about this team now than before the season. The newcomers -Hamilton,Champagnie and Murphy have given us more than I thought they would. If we get Trey and X playing cleaner games we start turning some of these games into laughers. Our defense has been great all year with the exception of Nicholls and K State shooting lights out from 3.

It seemed like Capel got them to resist the 3 in the second half (only 4 attempts) and we shot over 60% from 2 for the entire game and over 50% for the second half.

Hopefully we use our games the rest of December to establish a flow offensively. Sure is nice to have a couple of bigger guys who can rebound which also allows TB to focus on blocking shots and Hamilton/Champagnie can rebound misses.

Slowly but surely a TEAM is coming together.

We won the Legends Classic in the 2013-2014, and of course, there was the CBI in 2012. ;)

You prove yourself to be an honest observer. Criticize when its deserved and compliment when its deserved.

Isn't the game we won against Saint Louis last year in New York considered a tournament win even though it was only one game.

IMHO, playing two bigs at the same time last night seemed to help a lot. On the offensive end Brown is a lot better playing away from the hoop and compliments Hamilton who plays better on the low blocks. This allows Champagnie freedom to roam and clean up. So, our best lineup seemed to my eyes to be Hamilton, Brown and Champagnie together in the front court with only 2 of the 3 guards (Johnson, McGowens, Murphy) on the floor at the same time.

Really impressed they won this, all the signs of losing a game late were there. But, a scrapped out win is still a win.

What's up with that court though? The misses said oh that's pretty and I just shook my head. Terrible looking!

That is so funny, my wife said the same thing. Something about that’s the color she wants to put in .....

Agree with everything except "panthers should win this tournament." Northwestern is fundamentally sound, is well-coached, and normally doesn't beat itself. We can't afford to get sloppy against them. If we play clean, we win. If not, I'm not so sure.

They lost to D1 transition team Merrimack. Northwestern isn’t good.
