GTech player quote - yikes

If that's the case, and as stallings claims the players respond well to coaching, obviously this isn't on the players and he just isn't coaching well.

I do think stallings blames the players too much but I'm confident he's at least shown them how to set a screen. It's not like there's much coaching involved with that, all you can really do is tell them to plant their feet, tell the cutter to go off his shoulder and tell the screener to line the defender up without moving your feet. He can't go physically set the screens for them

Did you hear his comments to Hillgrove after the game? He basically was babbling on incoherently with no substantive answers to anything asked. He has no clue. This mess is on him, not the kids. He recruited them and he is coaching them.

Stallings provides literally no hope at turning this around. There is no reason as to why he should be coaching here next year. If EVERY HC, and Asst Coach in college basketball turns us down, then Mike Rice would take the job for next to nothing.

Hey Pittx9 you know I love ya but can't you see by now that Stallings isn't coaching this team well at all? We had no business being down 21-1 or 25-5 against a team like this. None. We are terrible and terribly coached. I'm surprised you aren't seeing this.

His answer for Stevenson and JWF going scoreless in the second half was really odd. It almost seemed like Hillgrove asked him that question with malice.

I thought the same thing. There was definitely some malice from Hillgrove. And not just in that question. You could sense it in other statements he made.

A couple of times I got the impression that either Stallings didn't know what to say, or he did know what he wanted to say but he realized that saying it would cause more harm than good so he was trying to dance around actually answering the question.

Oh, I am. Yesterday was the last straw for me. I didn't think he was doing a very good job obviously, but I was willing to give him a chance. It's just not worth it anymore though. To drop this embarrassingly low is not worth the heights he may get this program to because realistically... it's probably not all that high.

It really doesn't matter what he does the rest of the year. He's shown what he is capable of doing, which is basically nothing. If he lucks out and somehow gets these kids to get interested again and win 1 game, it will be by sheer luck and a miracle. He hasn't recruited one player that is ACC quality. It's over until we get a new coach.

I like Parker Stewart. The rest of them I agree. And he can't coach, that's a given.

I like Stewart, too. Good kid and he can shoot. He just needs to learn the rest of his game. Stallings isn't the coach to help him do that. But realistically on most any ACC team, he'd be a bench player and would come in to shoot some 3's, then sit again.

He reminds me of Ronald Ramon. He is a decent player, but he cannot be the first or second option if you want to have a good team.
