You have the Rape Scandal that happened under Paterno, they hired a football coach that was tied to a Rape Scandal at Vandy, and hired a President who was at FSU when the Winston rape scandal came out. Success Without Honor is the mantra at Dear Old Penn St.
There was no cover up at Vandy. The players were booted and did not step back on the field.

A number of lives have been destroyed by the culture created by Joe Paterno. You can keep saying no one there had anything to do with it and that is true, but the culture of football first above everything else, even child sexual abuse is still there. Its okay, they will fail again in time because that is what happens when priorities are not what they should be and I hope God remembers those with such priorities.

Gus Johnson was good a long time ago but he's become as much a caricature of himself as Dukie V and Joe Buck. Listened to Verne Lundquist's last game yesterday...the difference was night and day.
First off, a sexual predator is a person. It isn't a football program, a school, or even culture. PSU's administration isn't the first institution to drop the ball on a case like this and they certainly won't be the last. The 'football first' culture wasn't created by Joe Paterno. It's pretty much an American problem. Ya know, a certain NFL QB in Pittsburgh may or may not have had inappropriate behavior with women in the past. I have no clue what happened, but it certainly seemed suspicious at the time.
Secondly, just because someone is a victim of sexual abuse should in no way imply that their life is 'destroyed'. It's traumatic, but many victims work through it and go on to live happy, healthy, productive lives.
