Hail To Paris Ford

Sad that his worst game as a panther will be his last. Good luck Paris. But you have a lottery ticket you need to use and I wouldn’t waste it on this offense either

Thanks for the privilege to watch a talented local kid play for PITT. You are a true hometown hero. We all have to make decisions in life as we navigate our professional careers. I look forward to seeing another PITT grad represent this city in the NFL. HTP
Is he graduating? If so, good for him.

Donatas Ford also went to 3 high schools. Then quits this year. Some red flags there, but he'll still get drafted based on his film and combine, his discretions are small potatoes compared to others.

He didn't quit. When I worked at Presby, I saw what this sport did to many of these kids. Their bodies get mauled for our pleasure. The University makes millions. They carry these injuries the rest of their lives. He can immediately sign with an agent and start providing for his family. He can reduce the risk of injury and be ready for the evaluations. The only people who should be ashamed are the over weight and out of shape keyboard tough guys that are calling him a quitter. Maybe you can put down the donut and say it to his face. He never wavered on his commitment to PITT and played every game with intensity. I'm excited to see how the back ups play. HTP

Who is Donatas Ford? If you are going to throw shade at somebody then at least get their name right. LOL

Whatever dude he quit the team. That's called a low point regardless of your bleeding heart. He'll regret it.

I think what we are what we are seeing with Paris Ford is a precursor to what CFB will look like going forward.

By say, week 8.....top players will decide that getting ready for the combines is more important than getting 4 more games on tape.

Just watch.

Idiot

Its not a good move on his part.

He came into this season with a career VERY light of actual game play and heavy on immature behavior.

He needed to play the full partial schedule, well, with no more unneeded drama to get NFL teams warmed up to use a top three round pick on him.

Mission not accomplished.

He was once again difficult to handle, had some really nice splash plays with otherwise inconsistent play before flaking out after a bad game.

Going to be red flagged on some boards. I have stuck up for him a good bit, but he wasted his opportunity at Pitt acting like a diva.

It's tempting to conflate issues. Paris quit the team. That's a pock mark no matter how you spin it IMO.
I just don’t see it that way. I respect your perspective, but if/until we have more information, it’s tough to say. I’d love to know why he was benched against Notre Dame. If it was because of an altercation between Ford and coaches, then that needs to be examined more. If it’s a COVID concern, I think that’s rubbish and would agree with you. But, he should have opted out before the season, I’ve seen him in mock drafts as early as round 1, so if it is genuinely to preserve his body and get ready for the draft, more power to him. My feeling is that the coaches had more to do with this than we are led to believe.

Proves he was in one foot out the door NFL mode this year which was obvious by his play to me. Will be interesting how he ends up being evaluated/drafted.

Pitt fans are the worst. Maybe there is a bunch of Philthy Pitt fans elevating the Dbag level. The low level you have to stoop to to call one of the best players a quitter for not wanting to continue playing a season like this is just embarrassing. Most of you have written a post or 5 about the season being "over" or "we wont win another game" and at the same time you manage to call Paris, and Twyman, quitters???? LOL Please GFY

I get wishing him good luck. I have no issue with that. But why are we Hailing anyone, especially someone that is leaving early. There IS middle ground.

And they'd be right. Playing the college game does little for the better players in terms of long term goals, if they want to play professionally. They will limit their games and exposure to injury and opt out early by game 5 or 6, if necessary. It is what CFB will look like going forward, as you said.

You are making this way harder than it needs to be. He was playing poorly (as were many of his teammates). The game was a blow out. They took him out to give his backup snaps (as they did with many of his teammates). Out of all the guys on the team who were taken out before the game ended (benched, if you will) he was the one and only one to make a spectacle of himself.

“Screw that college kid for being a quitter and looking out for his chance to make millions. If he was a quality person he would not worry about injuries and honor his commitment to play for the coach and program that I spent the past week firebombing and saying that I’m done with... albeit under a different username.”

Facts are facts. He quit the team during the season.

pretty much every major school is losing tens of millions of dollars on athletics this year. Stick to thinking you're a "hero" for working in medicine. Loser

I'd say exactly what I think to his face and yours. I'm guessing you implying some inner bad ass. Never been afraid of that either.

You're the one acting like a child....oh wait, you are a child, a coward, and think you're some tough guy. And you're not real smart. Stay in your lane, with Burt and Ernie.

I couldn't agree more. One of my all time favorite Panthers! Best of Luck to Paris Ford. No Safety and I mean no one brings the wood against the run like Mr. Ford.

Who did I threaten? I just find it hilarious how people on the internet pound their chests while they attack these kids. I want him to call the kid a quitter to his face.

you are a really tough guy. I hope you are not in any type of employment or activities that involves kids

Lol. Does Paris punch harder than he tackles? Or does he just quit and walk away?
