Yeah you don’t know what team you’re playing. I do think that it had a lot on them beating OSU and PSU the way they have. Stealing signs on gameday isn’t the problem. That is actually legal to do if you can. Problem is sending people to video the opponents other games and washing the audio and video threw a computer software that can find what is real and what signs are crap.Certainly explains why they were so befuddled against TCU.
Oh no!! They stole our signs!!! PLEASE...If you don;t want someone to steal your "signs" get better at giving them. Of all the issues that the ncaa needs to address, this is not one of them.
While I don’t totally disagree with your statement. It does make me wonder if you would feel differently if instead of it being Michigan. It hit closer to here and it was WVCC or UNC?Oh no!! They stole our signs!!! PLEASE...If you don;t want someone to steal your "signs" get better at giving them. Of all the issues that the ncaa needs to address, this is not one of them.
Yeah. That's because they stock their schedule with more soup cans than the local Giant Iggle.Who cares. Teams change signs every week. This certainly isn't the reason they are winning by 45 every week.
So what was the rule he allegedly broke?
First of all, I hate having all of these QB's running around with a playbook on their arm. I also hate when the o field players have to run over to a coach (like Kenny Pickett had to do with Whipple) or look at a coach on the sidelines to see what play to run. Coach them correctly during the week and let the players play the game. Also, it wouldn't matter which team it was, including PITT. Saw Narduzzi had a comment today about the issue of stealing signs. I like Narduzzi, but I absolutely disagree with him on this subject. While I don’t totally disagree with your statement. That's a dumb rule to have in place. They are being accused of sending scouts to future opponents games, and you aren't allowed to scout future opponents in person.
That’s an idiotic rule that most teams don’t follow. They are being accused of sending scouts to future opponents games, and you aren't allowed to scout future opponents in person.
These are alleged videos of in game signs which are processed immediately.Who cares. Teams change signs every week. This certainly isn't the reason they are winning by 45 every week.

You are drastically minimizing how impossible it is/will be to keep signs a secret. I highly doubt that teams are just using some dude with binoculars to steal signs.Oh no!! They stole our signs!!! PLEASE...If you don;t want someone to steal your "signs" get better at giving them. Of all the issues that the ncaa needs to address, this is not one of them.
Keep a secret? Most, if not all of those teams, signal their signs right in the open. If someone is smart enough to figure a program out that does what you say, COOL!! Hire that person on the spot and give them a job!!You are drastically minimizing how impossible it is/will be to keep signs a secret. I'm sure that someone can write a program using machine learning that will be able to decipher an opponent's signs within a few offensive/defensive series. If you can build out the model before the game using their signs from a previous game, then that would likely drastically reduce the number of plays needed as most, if not all, coaches will just use a simple replacement. This can be done almost instantly, with plenty of time to get that info to the sidelines.
Here's the complete list of P5 teams that abide that rule:They are being accused of sending scouts to future opponents games, and you aren't allowed to scout future opponents in person.
Yeah I'm sure they're deeply ashamed of him. A transgression of this magnitude brings profound shame on any family. I'm sure his dad, who was a college head coach for 20 years and was in the college athletics business his entire working life, could never imagine that his son would go so far astray as to try to gain competitive advantage in the same manner as every other program ever. Between that and buying a couple recruits a cheeseburger during the dead period, he should be banished from college football forever. His parents, if still living must be awfully proud of him.
I 100% guarantee that there are many teams that already have some capability for this, it's just a matter of if and how they are using it. It could be something as simple as an algorithm, like was being used by the Astros, but with a greater number of signs and outcomes I'd imagine there are a few teams that have gone all in. So having sign data from previous games would be a huge boost in its effectiveness.Keep a secret? Most, if not all of those teams, signal their signs right in the open. If someone is smart enough to figure a program out that does what you say, COOL!! Hire that person on the spot and give them a job!!
Not a fan of Harbaugh or Michigan, just think that all of this is a waste of time and an attempt by a fan of a school like Ohio State or psu who feels that Michigan will win it all this year unless they do something to prevent it.
I think it makes sense. You would want to test your system agaisnt Rutgers and Indiana before using it vs a tough opponent. How wild is it that Harbaugh would do this against Rutgers?
And leave all this behind? Nah..........If you can steal signs then good for you. More reason to have the radio like NFL does
That illustrates why you need 15-man coaching staffs. And leave all this behind? Nah..........

Perhaps on a limited basis but to do it to the point Schiano has you figured out by halftime?I think it makes sense. You would want to test your system agaisnt Rutgers and Indiana before using it vs a tough opponent.
Schiano has a trained eye for what sign stealing looks like having been in the NFL for all those years, where EVERY TEAM does it in EVERY GAME.Perhaps on a limited basis but to do it to the point Schiano has you figured out by halftime?
With as much talent as Mich has, if you're willing to cheat with illegal visits for sign stealing, where does the cheating stop? Not a good look at all.Yeah you don’t know what team you’re playing.
