Harbaugh pulling a Narduzzi?

Lamar is kind of like Alex Ovechkin. Unbelievable personal accomplishments/talents/stats but can’t seem to elevate the team to a title. Like Alex, I think Lamar eventually wins one but right now he’ll just put up impressive numbers and enjoy the spotlight personally.
He did elevate his team. Wtf are you talking bout. He drove the team down and got rhe TD and the TE fumbled the 2 point conversion, as he fumbled away 2 other times. Harbaugh goes for the 2 point conversion in the 3rd quarter instead of the extra point, and they had to go for 2 point try at the end, instead of extra point to tie.

They didnt run Henry much at all after a drive of like 80 yards on the ground. The Bills could not stop the running game. Run the damn ball and they probably win and not worrying about the TE choking the game away. What did Allen do better in that game than Lamar? He didnt throw for more yards and he didnt run for more yards. And just like Lamar, Allen has not lead his team to a SB. I wish Lamar was the QB for the Steelers.

He didn't have 2 turnovers.

Fair points. Hurts is probably at the bottom of that list for me, but he did take his team to a Super Bowl, and he’s a game away form doing it again. He’s proven he can win big games. Have yet to see that from Lamar.

Lamar laid an egg in the first half when he was pressured (a common issue for him), and he literally had all day to make throws last night in the 2nd half when he was looking better. That said, Hamlin could have picked off Jackson’s long pass leading to the end of game TD if he was in better position…. This was Baltimore’s best team in the Lamar era. No real weaknesses. This was their best chance. Lamar has to win some big playoff games to be in the upper echelon of QBs. He Hasn’t done it yet, and in his losses he’s had plenty of errors. I know Ravens fans that love him, but never know which player they’re going to get in big games and hate the anxiety.

Daniels is looking insane right now and he has so much upside as a rookie. Already in the NFC championship…. yes, it’s a small sample size, but I’d rather have him as my QB (the fun of being a fan). He goes through professions so quickly and his running ability is right there with Lamar. Kid is going to win Super Bowls IMO and made it as far as Lamar already.

Upper Tier 1 QBs
Mahomes
Josh Allen
Joe Burrow
Daniels (admittedly small sample size, and I get not the argument against, but I’d still rather have him)

Lower Tier 1 QBs
Lamar/Goff/Hurts

Everyone above Lamar has made it to or won a Super Bowl outside of Daniels in his rookie season and he’s already made it as far as Lamar. Goff (laid a playoff egg this year) and Hurts made it to a Super Bowl.

Again, Lamar is one of these freak humans considered a top NFL QB. We’re splitting hairs on a minuscule subset of humanity.
Josh Allen got to a Super Bowl? When?

There are some baaaaad takes in this thread. Maybe some blame should fall on the coach that was going to get canned before he managed to get Lamar as his QB.

Baltimore is going to face questions about what to do with Harbaugh. Again. It's sort of interesting that Harbaugh and Tomlin get lumped together in these discussions. The two franchises couldn't be more different in their approach. Ravens win the division with a pretty mediocre offense and then go out and trade up to draft Jackson while the Steelers miss the playoffs and take Terell Edmunds. A year later the Steelers are still floundering, trade a first for a Safety, and Baltimore is the #1 seed. Fast forward to today. The Steelers don't have a QB, a RB, a true #1 WR and the defense is in shambles. Baltimore's biggest problem is how to re-sign their pro-bowl center and figure out how to win a couple more home games so they don't have to go to Buffalo or KC.

But at the end of the day, it's a big old failure of a season for both teams, yeah? I'd say arguably more so for the Ravens.

I would agree that it is a bigger failure for the Ravens. That is because they have high expectations that were not met. The Steelers have little to no expectations other than to finish 500. Those expectations were met so only the fans and maybe some players feel cheated. I'm sure Rooney and Tomlin, if disappointed at all, are only mildly disturbed. These two franchises couldn't be further apart tho. One has enough talent to win the superbowl if it would stop tripping over its own two feet while the other barely has marginal talent to make 500, with a coach who has no clue what the hell he is doing.

Eh, at least Harbaugh wins playoff games. It's a completely different problem. They've lost to Buffalo twice, KC once, and to Cincy in their best season in forever. At least they're up against a breakthrough. It hurts more for sure.

In the end, that's a much worse problem. Failure is never easy to swallow but at least Baltimore is doing what they can to fix things. When they need something, the go and do trades and move up in the draft to get it.

After next week, there’s a good chance that Josh Allen gets to a Super Bowl :)

My mistake., but Josh Allen does have twice the playoff wins as Lamar

Until proven otherwise, Lamar is a regular season hero and playoff dud. It just is what it is and no amount of justification can change results - especially when he always directly contributes to the losses.

The takes that defend him beyond what he is are definitely some baaaaaad takes.

The takes that say he's a two time league MVP? Those takes? When did Peyton Manning win his first Super Bowl?

As good as Daniels has been as a rookie, to say you'd take him over Lamar is crazy.

And not too many people would take Hurts over Lamar either.

Put Lamar on the eagles with those WR's, Saquon and the NFC and it's a cake walk.

He's losing to the Bills and Chiefs and putting his team in a position to win. It's not like he's losing to the Tebow led broncos.
...and Titans, and Bengals, and Chargers...
