Hearing from some pretty reliable sources (Volleyball)....

FFH is an albatross at this point. It’s obsolete. And winning isn’t sustainable there. When Pitt recruited my kid, we spent time there. There’s still no AC and it’s falling apart. Several times per week, the olympic sports teams are expected to hit the makeshift weight room that was shoehorned into the rafters. Heat rises. Imagine working out in a sauna. Maybe that works for wrestlers that have to cut weight, but surely you can understand that it’s an awful environment for 99% of the athletes. The building is not P5. It’s not even high major, mid major or small D1. You think FFH is good enough. I can assure you it’s not.
Shhhh, he's on a typical smf roll. Let him go.

SMF is so myopic.

Myopic is defined as lacking foresight, or intellectual insight.

Yet for months he keeps making post after post on a topic that is moot. The University is moving forward…
Listen, when SMF had good takes, I’ll give him a “like”. When he doesn’t, I’ll discuss. But what does it say about him when he literally makes dozens, if not hundreds of posts per day, but doesn’t “like” anyone else’s posts? He doesn’t have to like my stuff. That is irrelevant to me. But he doesn’t like anything he reads (as in 0.00%). That’s just something I happened to pick up on recently. Sanctimonious isn’t the right word to describe that I don’t think. Maybe it is? Maybe there’s a better word. Even someone like Souf who is the most sanctimonious poster in the history of this site will acknowledge posts that he agrees with.

Working out in a sauna is great makes your body naturally pump HGH

I have never "liked" anything on social media. I think that feature is stupid. I will reply.

I'm just glad he doesn't invade the pay boards with his drivel.

The Field House sucks. Yea, I know. Its a mid-major facility at best. In a perfect world, absolutely we should build the most spectacular arena with 14K gold seats. But we are soon to be one of 2 P5 schools without a football stadium and the only 1 who shares a stadium and has an MLB team schedule their kickoff times. And our basketball program is a disaster. My stance has always been we need to fix basketball and build a football stadium before worrying about volleyball, which is winning at incredible rates in its shitty facility.

This where someone says, we can do 2 things at once. No we cant. Football and basketball make money and those issues need resolved and all hands must be on deck there. Pitt cannot spend $300 million for Olympic sports and simultaneously spend hundreds of millions on the sports that make money.

I think some of y'all have to stop getting your University of Pittsburgh news from Nitters. It equivalent to (and as accurate as) getting your national news from Fox News.

Considering all the pedophelia currently at CNN, that would have been more applicable when referencing PSU.

No matter the reason for staying, there was unfinished business. The ultimate goal is yet to be reached.Glad he is staying for a multitude of reasons, but mainly we would have to deal with ped st.every year and it would be a constant reminder. And the program would eventually fall from where it is now.

I had seen the one year extension tweet and was like hmmmm. something happened. But had missed this thread and those on volleytalk.

PSU came after Fish hard, and PSU is historically on a completely different program level with 7 national titles and 13 final fours.

This was a big win for Lyke. Keep proven talent at home is a big part of her job.

PSU's eventual hire, on paper, at least for its fans, has to be quite disappointing.

Penn State has big time facilities/investment problems across the department, and the issue has gotten worse over the past few years. They’ve put pretty much any available dollars into football to try to close the gap and stop the bleeding there, but that’s meant that the other sports aren’t getting anything.
