Below is a link showing Heinz Field is the 13th best stadium sports venue in North America in 2017 according to StadiumJourney.com. Of course, this is for pro football and does not mention our Panthers.

PNC ranked 7th overall and seems to include most pro, college and minor league sports.
Just thought it was interesting and put Pittsburgh in a good light.

Damn - and that’s in ANY sport college or pro.

I guess we just have to be good and show up to watch good team (seriously)

Heinz Field consistently ranks among the best NFL stadiums and a No. 13 of all stadiums/arenas is very impressive. We all know how PNC Park is and when Pitt basketball is good, The Pete is one of the best in college basketball. I think the only subpar facility we have is PPG Paints. The seats bowl is very good, but the concourses and overall design of the arena is meh, especially when compared to the other three in the city.

PNC > AT&T, IMO having lived in both cities. Views from most seats are better at PNC. AT&T has better food options, but SF weather doesn't help unless you like the feel of late October baseball all summer long. Only stadium that sells more hot chocolate than beer. PNC is also nicer than Wrigley, IMO. Wrigley has the history but is cramped as all get out and doesn't have the amenities, but they've done a nice job incorporating the former outside park area into the stadium grounds. Wriggleyville is a cool area during games though. Have a friend that lives just two three blocks from the stadium. I've run into Wannstach at a game there. Camden is pretty nice, and I might rate it slightly higher than PNC as a venue, not for its location though.

Heinz, as a venue, is nicer than any college stadium that I've been too, including Clemson's and Colorado's IMO. College stadiums just can't compare to the amenities that pro stadiums provide, as far as comparing the actual venues.

I've been to the following stadiums for a Pitt football game:

Heinz Field
Lane Stadium (VT)
Milan Puskar (WVU)
Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (Navy)
Notre Dame Stadium
Spartan Stadium (MSU)
Beaver Stadium (PSU)
Carter-Finley Stadium (NCSU)

Literally *NONE* of them are better for watching a game than Heinz Field. None. Not even close.

Is the atmosphere better at some? Yeah... because they're full.

But when Heinz is full for a Pitt game, the atmosphere is as good or better than any of those other stadiums.

Great list. Added credibility because it leaves out the 'Shoe and Big House, both of which house blue bloods but in my experience are average places to watch a game and enjoy the fan experience.
I agree with adding Navy Marine Corps Stadium....love the grass hill.

Heinz Field is a great place to watch a game but it's also an atmosphere problem for us based on size (too big for every game but Penn State), open design (lets the noise out), and the shared status (still lots of Steelers stuff around even on Saturday.)

I'm not saying there is a better realistic option now, only that the atmosphere suffers partially because it's a very nicely designed and built pro stadium.

Well, I guess the science has spoken. Turns out, Pitt football is going to be just fine after all.
