I know Nike will be changing our uniforms next year... I'd like to see something like the Virginia tech helmets

(blue and gold)
It would be very different for us but I think it could work.

Big fan of the flat colors you sees one teams wearing...flat gold with Pitt script I think would be the shit.

Nothing cheesy or derivative. We are not some wannabe, Johnny-come-lately, never achieved anything of significance program. We have a proud history. It's high time we behave as such.

Many of these clown costumes are modern day leisure suits. We will all look back on this era and just laugh at the sheer idiocy of it all - guaranteed.

That doesn't mean we can't try anything new or fresh. It is just to say that there is still a place for dignity in uniform presentation, even if many others refuse to exercise discretion and good taste. We don't all have to look like something out of Barnum & Bailey's circus or the Power Rangers.

Hope to see a Chrome look on the helmets every now and again. The script shinning under the lights would be tremendous

As for the Virginia Tech helmet, I don't like it because it is a derivative approach.

That helmet was a direct rip off of the helmet that was designed for the Midshipmen for the Army/Navy game from two or three years ago.

When Navy did it, it was very cool because no one else had done it. Also, there was a reason behind the design. They wanted it to look like an officer's uniform.

When Virginia Tech did it, it was just because it looked cool when Navy did it. A bunch of G5 schools and FCS schools also ripped off that look.

Cheesy.

All of the stuff reminds me of a great song from many moons ago:

"Everyone's happy, they're finally all the same. Cause everyone's jumpin' everybody else's train."

Metallic gold
Flat blue
Oregon sparkling white

One side script the other side a numeral ...or the Logo of the University. Harvard should have never gotten away from that on its helmets
Now that would be the real S•••

From what I understand Pitt will have 3 helmets next year (plus an alternate making 4)...? Surprised nothing has leaked yet but I bet by spring when the entire school goes back to script more will be out there.

I think the basic gist is a blue a gold a white uniform ...more modern looking...and the alternate will be in the 70s colors but will NOT be an exact replica of that era... Which is fine with me.

I would like to see a blue helmet with gold script Pitt, even the flat blue

I would be fine with the regular gold script helmet and a white script helmet for a few games...

That's it, that's the list

I would love to see the cathedral on the helmet...but that will come when we start to go 11-1...12-0 :)

You could pretty much take this exact helmet, replace the anchor sticker with Script, and it would look pretty good.

But it would have no meaning. It would just make us the 14th different school to copy Navy's helmet.

Nothing is timeless... Everything changes....that's life everywhere except creepy valley ...

I will be very disappointed if we go with one of those insipid chrome or mirrored helmet looks that scream "look at me, look at me, Mommy didn't give me enough attention when I was a kiddie". It's a game played by men, let's please look the part. And while we're at it, could we also please get rid of the blue and red and chartreuse colored turf in college football, it's a football field not a rumpus room.

What would be unique is a helmet with the Cathedral brick sandstone texture for the background gold, and then the script in blue. I'm envisioning something along the lines of the GT honeycomb helmet. It would look good too.

Or blue pants with the sandstone texture for the gold stripe.

The Cathedral is Indiana limestone....and it isn't brick.

New Pitt buildings in the line of sight of the Cathedral are now required to have some limestone on the facade. Heinz, Stephen Foster, Frick, Clapp, Posvar Hall, Hillman Library...all have limestone facades.

Sounds nice but maybe it's a little too subtle and understated?

What are we going to do to represent the peregrine falcons that live on top of the Cathedral?

Can we airbrush their vestiges onto the back of the jerseys? That would be amazing looking!
