I highly doubt we buy him out for any figure over $20M, and that number might even be a bit high. It sucks to say, but he's not going anywhere until at least 2028ish.

We are financially-strapped right now. We can't afford to pay a guy $7M/season not to coach.

Why not? He's not doing much coaching now.

Who negotiates these contracts between colleges and head coaches, if a coach wants to leave for a mother school he just leaves, but if the coach gets fired the school has the pay him buyout money, seem like something wrong with that
