Recruiting is over for this year. I saw some things I really like with this staff (pulling in guys like Brightwell, McKee and keeping key guys like Hall and Whitehead, understanding and leveraging social media), and some things I didn't like (last minute flips). All that said, it looks like we'll finish with a class ranked in the high 50's or low 60's. The bottom line is that simply won't cut it. Period. We need to do much better next year in order to be competitive in the ACC. The good news is that I think Narduzzi and staff will get it done; next year will be absolutely critical to the program.

Cruzer--nonsense, this is not a bad class--class size was the main limiting factor. Quality wise (average stars) this is a low 40's class and mid-pack ACC--forget the class size bias in the rankings. It is mostly caused by butting against the 85 ship ceiling.

I do agree we ought to want and expect a higher quality class next year.

Yes seriously. With a small class of just 15, we had 4 guys who were 4-star players: Whitehead, Hall, McKee, and Peterman. Brightwell was a very high 3-star with a great offer sheet. We also got a good DE JUCO who should start from day one. The two OL guys are very solid, and we added speed at the WR spots. And the upgrade at QB was huge.

So its not an Alabama type class for sure, but for a small class with a coaching change, this is a solid class.

Me, very excited, can't wait to see these young men
Suited up in our BLUE and GOLD !!!

PITT IS IT !!!!!

Didn't say it was a bad class...it's just not a good class. There are some players who should contribute (possibly in a big way), but my larger point is that if your classes are ranked in the 50's you're not likely to compete with the big boys.

We need to improve our recruiting dramatically next year. I'll stand by that statement.

Re: NO, Here's the REAL bottom line...

Pitt fans have to get off their A$$ and support! Not wait for a winner to support. In college it doesn't work that way. The teams that have the most support are generally more successful not the other way around. You want a coach to stay, make it a place worth staying!

Bottom line!
