Our guards make a shot and then immediately feel entitled the next possession to dribble 30 times and chuck up a heat check. They do it almost every time…sometimes they’ll even throw up a second heat check. The one on one shit isn’t working against better competition. Half the time they’re laying on the ground acting like they were fouled after some ridiculous looking circus shot and the other team is going 5 on 4 the other way for an easy bucket.
Can the coaching staff be better? Yeah obviously, but there’s no way that’s what they’re coaching. Our guard play has been one of the biggest issues the past several weeks. You could kind of see it coming before the conference play too…bad iso ball that would work against bad competition but you knew wasn’t going to fly against top 50 type teams.
Anybody know Jaland’s assist to turnover ratio in conference play compared to last year? Felt like he was always so under control last year and such a smart player…you would be surprised last year when he turned it over. This year it’s like somebody got in his ear that the most important thing is for him to get to 20 points every game regardless of the number of turnovers or field goal %.
