Hey nick marmo

And was told to not return for his 5th year.

Also great Pitt went to 4 straight bowl games in his time at psu.
Wonder if Dinkins has any regrets now. Going to a FARCE 10 program that has less wins then Rutgers.

Late 90s I think
He was never actually a miss -
He was big yet was not effective even at the hs
Level

1998 season, 1999 recruiting class year. That New Castle team is easily one of the worst WPIAL champs in the old 4 class system. I know that CB West was a true juggernaut, but they used and abused NC in the state title game. Marmo got by on size alone in HS.

Recruiting local linemen was weird back then. There was the guy who did more indoor archery than football up there, and the OL that chose Pitt and he was basically disowned by his crazy father.

Your talking Tyler Reed for archery and he made it was a 3 year starter for them who was in the NFL for 3 or 4 years. So he was a lose.

It was Dale W shoes dad DJworm was a PSU fan who basically did that. I remember on senior day only his mom was there.

I remember he came to Pitt because he wanted to study medicine in the future. I do wonder if he did accomplish that.

I remember that too and wonder the same thing. I know a simple search would provide an answer but I'm not big on searching random people on their life.

Someone ask him what bowl games Westminster (who just lost to Carnegie Mellon) will be going to.

Yea when I saw he was line coach at my alma mater I about puked.although I didn’t think they were playing this season.

To be honest......Nick Marmo, like Mark Farris, Jeff Craig, Brian Borgoyne, hell Tyler Reed and Lucas Nix were the last of a dying breed. The Western Pa linemen where recruiting analysts saw and Pittsburgh area linemen who was 6'5" and immediately thought about Bill Fralic or Jimbo Covert and likely ranked guys higher than what they actually were.

We saw this with QB's with guys like Joe Felitsky, Rich Bowen, Tony Zimmerman, through to Tony Morelli, where they lived off of Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Jim Kelly, etc...'s coattails.

Rich Bowen LOL!

Dale williams from erie . The maternal side of his family tailgated in our old red lot . We got to know his grandfather and yeah his dad dj worm would not attend the games .dale stopped a few times and what a nice kid . His mothers family was great his dad an asshat

Rich Bowen LOL!
I was in high school at the time but was very excited that Pitt received a commitment from Parade All American Rich Bowen! I was pumped enough that I went to see him and Serra Catholic play in the single A Championship played at Baldwin High School. I was expecting to see him throw the ball all over the field but he threw something like 8 times and rarely downfield. I walked away wondering what the fuss was and we all learned in time that there never should have been a fuss in the first place.

yeah, back when the Parade team and Joe Terranova were the only sources on recruiting. But in the early 80's hardly anyone was slinging it downfield in the WPIAL but I also thought Bowen was the heir apparent to Marino. And also Joe Felitsky, and Dante Wiley....

Kosar was slinging it downfield at Boardman and Sherrill instead allotted his QB scholarships to Congemi and Bowen in 1982

Williams chose Pitt to prepare for medical career. I hope he made his goals, and reestablished his relationship with The worm. Holidays had to suck at their house for awhile.
