He might be an idiot but bringing up one guy from 3 generations ago kinda makes his point.Idiot
I get it truly I do. I agree with you on his knowledge. But what does it say about you when you come here to rip him and call him an idiot, but you helped him make his point? Here we go -knuckleheads that could not put pads on the right way have to come on here and defend someone who has proven him(her)self to be void of football knowledge -no frighten wonder the world is like it is.
Idiot
Derek Bochna. Went to St Penn. Late 80s I believe. Maybe early 90s.Are you really bringing up a player from 100 years ago to make some type of point? I think Mapletown had a D1 recruit 60 years ago. Maybe we should start recruiting there.
I guess you can say he’s helping make his point if you’re talking about his modified point, definitely not the point of his initial post which had to have the goal posts shifted after all the rebuttals.I get it truly I do. I agree with you on his knowledge. But what does it say about you when you come here to rip him and call him an idiot, but you helped him make his point?
And I played ball at Pitt. What about you? Some here used to say that the most athletic thing you did was fall off a bar stool.
And you are complaining about the worlds problems? Oh the irony.
Instead of replying in SMF’s thread about Nitters recruiting western PA, the OP thought his response to SMF was really neat and worthy of its own thread. You probably have to go to the other thread for context. What the hell is going on?!?!?!
Derek Bochna. Went to St Penn. Late 80s I believe. Maybe early 90s.
And didn’t Mike Vernillo from Ft Cherry go to WVU?
Yep, Marvin Lewis went to the Fort as well.Marvin Lewis and Marty both went to Fort Cherry and Pitt, but I doubt that makes a difference.
But you're just as dumb, ANY PLACE, no matter how small or irrelevant, can just randomly have the next D1/5 star/super stud athlete born there at ANY TIME. What if your heroes Messi or LeBron were born and grew up there, they wouldn't be good? Are you really bringing up a player from 100 years ago to make some type of point? I think Mapletown had a D1 recruit 60 years ago. Maybe we should start recruiting there.
When he graduated, I'm pretty sure that Bochna was the all-time WPIAL rushing leader.Good call on Derek Bochna. Forgot about that dude. We definitely need to recruit Mapletown more. Lots of good ballplayers down there.
This thread is classic. God bless Marty. A good Pitt man and even better person. But how many people who went to school with Marty and played with Marty are alive to speak about it? Probably not many. They are all north of 80 years old.schottenheimer was at fort cherry in the late 50s lol.
this is your counter point?
I'd have paid to hear that stuff. On a side note, I could sit and listen to my elders recite stories for hours. Just last week I sat with 3 guys who were telling countless stories about the great Chuck Klausing who went 54-0-1 at Braddock HS in the early 50’s.
The guy was a winner everywhere he was head coach. I wonder what would have happened in the 60’s if he was at Pitt and how that would have changed the entire shape of the program and what came in the 70’s.I'd have paid to hear that stuff.
Doesn't count. Played against girls. When he graduated, I'm pretty sure that Bochna was the all-time WPIAL rushing leader.
You know SMF really believes that, I'm sure he could go through any record book and rationalize which records count and which don't and why.Doesn't count. Played against girls.
all high school football in greene county is co-ed, man i never knew that. thank Goodness SMF is here to educate the masss..Doesn't count. Played against girls.

i think the wnba should let guys play, the drag queen guys who say they are girls. it would make the wnba sooo much more interesting. i know they have that one dude who got out of jail in russia already but make it a league wide policy..Honestly, if they let girls play, it would increase the talent pool. I am positive there are some soccer, basketball, or softball girls in the boonies who are better than that math geek playing safety. Our old asses can walk in right now and start for a 1A team. Some of these teams have 14 or 15 players.
It's going to happen! I can't wait! that will be the first WNBA game I ever watchi think the wnba should let guys play, the drag queen guys who say they are girls. it would make the wnba sooo much more interesting. i know they have that one dude who got out of jail in russia already but make it a league wide policy..
people think im trolling when i say this and it gets deleted but im serious, it would make it watchable. It's going to happen! I can't wait! that will be the first WNBA game I ever watch![]()
It's going to happen eventually, I'm just waiting to hear the reactions, will they tell the actual women players to shut up, just like they did the swimmers at Penn last year? The whole trans in women's sports thing is a story already, but it hasn't hit major league women's sports yet, like WNBA or the USWNT Soccer.people think im trolling when i say this and it gets deleted but im serious, it would make it watchable.
Thinking back to my high school football days, I'm thinking playing on a team like that sounds like a lot of fun, more fun than trying to compete at the highest levelHonestly, if they let girls play, it would increase the talent pool. I am positive there are some soccer, basketball, or softball girls in the boonies who are better than that math geek playing safety. Our old asses can walk in right now and start for a 1A team. That's about a valid as the sign I saw on the back of a Tundra pickup, "I identify as a Prius".i think the wnba should let guys play, the drag queen guys who say they are girls. it would make the wnba sooo much more interesting. i know they have that one dude who got out of jail in russia already but make it a league wide policy..
Chuck was an amazing coach to say the least . I read a book a few years back about there winning streak . The title escapes me but I highly recommend it. Lent it to a buddy of mine who was originally from North Braddock and grew up there in the 60's ... Never did get the damn thing back now that I think of it .. Anyways . Yeah Chuck was a good one .This thread is classic. God bless Marty. A good Pitt man and even better person. Vernillo wasn’t at WVU very long; he soon transferred to Slippery Rock.Derek Bochna. Went to St Penn. Late 80s I believe. Maybe early 90s.
