The soft press and ball pressure obviously affected the young Panthers a bit. Even with two point guards on the floor, it is going to be a struggle. Not sure I love the starting lineup, but there are only a couple of other options.
- Marcus shows how talented he is offensively. When he is on from deep, he can be explosive. Great free throw shooter. Still needs to develop his floor game. Too many poor decisions and pressure at this level can get to him.
- Ryan is about the only consistent option. He has brought it every night. Not a perfect player, but he is exactly what this team needs in order to limp through this season.
- They need more from JWF. Shot the three well but they need more. They need him in the paint and around the rim. They need him to take care of the ball as well. You can see the scoring ability and competitiveness, but it needs to be channeled and reigned in.
- Not sure what Kene brings to this team right now. Not sure why he starts and plays that many minutes. There is no rebounding or defense right now, and he can't find the touch from deep. To me, this should be like a 28-12 split to Shamiel's favor.
- Shamiel was okay, and he is going to have his nights. Tonight wasn't one of them but I thought he was solid. His athletic ability and physicality is going to steal them a few buckets each game.
- Parker was fine, but I can't recall a player so programmed and restricted to the half court sets. If he somehow comes up with a turnover or the ball in the half court, he immediately stops and looks to dump it off backwards. As he develops, he will need to become more skilled and confident in the open floor.
- Kham Davis made a few big plays. There isn't a lot of production but there is something about the kid that is more than the numbers. I am a fan.
- Milligan was solid once again. He deserves the opportunity that he is getting, and they need his ball handling. Whether or not he can maintain this level once the competition increases, we will see.
- Peace was limited once again and he can't really stay on the floor due to foul trouble. With that being said, now might be the time to sneak him in for a few minutes at a time to see if he can somehow work through it. They really need more of a live body inside than Kene.
